Reviser

Position Purpose

Supporting a growing organization in the pharmaceutical industry, a reviser (English to French) is required who will thrive in a dynamic, fast paced environment with continuous learning opportunities. As a member of Linguistic Services, the reviser validates translations to ensure they are aligned with company objectives. The position requires sound judgment, comprehensive understanding of both French and English and effective, supportive communication with translators. The reviser provides the editing and final quality control check on translated documents before materials are produced. By delivering a quality product in a professional manner, the reviser impacts business outcomes and creates value for the company. The reviser’s work has a direct impact on AstraZeneca’s corporate image in the industry, the medical community, patient groups and most importantly on the health of patients.

Responsibilities:

· Strict attention to detail and quality

· Validates the translator’s terminology choices and critically reviews translations

· Editing, amending text, improving copy, and proofreading

· Transferring knowledge to the translators

· Working to very tight timelines

· Revision of highly sensitive and/or highly technical documents from English to French. The text may be scientific (product monographs, study protocols) or more general in nature such as press releases, promotional material or human resources material.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Undergraduate and/or Masters degree in Translation

- Proficiency in English and French

- Two years proven experience in revision and/or editing, and a minimum four years experience as a translator

- Knowledge and experience with revision requirements for human resources, communications, public affairs, etc.

- Candidates with pharmaceutical industry knowledge and/or medical terminology preferred but not critical for the right candidate

- Good organization skills

- Strong time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines

- Analytical, thorough, precise

- Ability to learn AstraZeneca product lines, policies and culture
