Theatre & Cinema Outings Leader

Theatre Club – we organise regular trips to Wimbledon Theatre with its wonderfully varied programme of comedies, drama, musicals and dance. Seats are in the stalls at group rates, giving you the chance to enjoy a wonderful show with a friendly group.

Cinema Club – Watch films or live theatrical transmissions with friends in comfortable venues at cinemas in the local area.

Do you like the stage and big screen? Is this a passion you would like to share with others? We are looking for people who would like to support new exciting clubs that we are setting up in 2016 for people 50+.We want to encourage more participation in activities at Age UK Merton by providing an excellent service and warm welcome. Our volunteers are invaluable in this. This role description sets out the main responsibilities for volunteers supporting activities.

Role description

·  Supporting the Out & About Lead to find suitable venues, shows and films

·  Greet clients at the venue and give out tickets

·  Facilitate conversation between clients, make sure everyone is seated and happy - ensuring everyone has an enjoyable social occasion

·  Helping with the organisation of trips to see a variety of productions (you may have a particular interest), this could include booking tickets at venues, organising practical resources for the evening, or taking client bookings and payments

·  Promoting events through a range of avenues
