Role of Learning Disabilities nursing staff in postural management
Basic awareness of what postural management is - all staff
Use of prescribed positioning aids / following positioning plans – staff in in-patient
Signposting to physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy for review of positioning plans, assessment of positioning, replacement of equipment (other than wear and tear on wheelchairs which may be signposting to Disabled Support Centre)
Support clients to follow their programmes as part of well being/health action planning
Support attendance at clinics if desensitisation work is required to access primary care facilities
