MAJORS LAKES NEWS LETTER
QUARTER THREE 2011
(In conjunction with Country Sports)
FISH WELFARE
You will recall that everybody was notified in the last news letter that as of 1st July 2011 only free running carp and feeder rigs can now be used at Majors Lakes. Furthermore, please refrain from handling fish in any type of cloth or towel as this will remove their natural protection. Only handle fish with bare hands.
RUBBISH LEFT AT BANK-SIDE_
It is with regret that our bailiffs have asked that I give mention to the recent spate of litter being left in the shrubbery and at the bank side at Majors Lakes. They have unfortunately found over the last couple of weeks, sweet corn tins, meat tins and ground bait bags. It is the responsibility of each and every angler to ensure that they remove (take home) any rubbish as outlined in rule 12 of the club rule sheet. Any angler caught not adhering to rule 12 and not taking home any unwanted rubbish will be reported to Country Sports.

WORK PARTY
The club would just like to say thank you to all members that attended the work party on Sunday 17th July. Everybody that attended worked very hard to complete all of the jobs required. The club would like to offer an extended thank you to the two Michaels (Andrews) for their excellent work in clearing almost the entire weed from the trout lake, it really was no easy task. In fact they did such a good job, they can do it next time?????????

2008 & 2009 PEG RESULTS
The club would like to extend their thanks to John Osmer for the following catch by peg information, I am sure many of our members will benefit from John’s hard work.
John has asked however, that I should point out that no catches were recorded for Jan, Oct, Nov and Dec 2009. This must be wrong!! And records for 2010 are sadly even sketchier. So can we make a plea that everyone try and record their catches in to the book? Improved data will aid in the compilation of the analysis and make it so much more useful in future, to the benefit of all members. Not forgetting trying to make John’s life easier too.

NEW PICNIC TABLES
Our club would like to offer their thanks to member Steve Taylor for his sterling work in making two new picnic tables for the club. One of which is in the photo below. Steve worked very hard in between his busy work schedule to have both tables finished for our BBQ. Many thanks Steve from everybody.
By the way Steve I need three new doors hanging and a new roof on my shed. What’s the chances????????????????????
