A First For School Meals: New Help-ings for the Grundy
London, 19th April 2010 - Primeware has announced a new, lightweight, ceramic ‘grundy’ dish as a modern alternative to the classic grundy tin for schools. Available in full and half sizes, the dishes add a colourful splash to food display in ever popular white, pillar box red, British racing green, tuscan yellow or royal blue.
The Primeware grundy dish is an attractive yet highly practical alternative to aluminium – ultralight, ultratough and 40% lighter than standard ceramics. It also comes with matching polycarbonate lids, ensuring added freshness and heat retention.
“The grundy tin has been a staple component of school meal diet for years - however it has never scored high marks aesthetically. Now with the focus more than ever on healthy eating for school children, it is vital that caterers make food look - not just taste - more appealing. This was the thinking behind our new grundy-sized dish design - to literally ‘liven’ up food for school children,” explains Harvey Herrmann, Managing Director, Primeware Ceramics.
In the same matching style Primeware’s TMP range of light weight dishes are available in GN1/1, 1/2 and 1/3 sizing. As with the Grundy dishes they are ideal oven to table ware, dishwasher proof and are available in white or colour.
