Visa Information

Most individuals attending the FIVS Conference are not required to obtain a visa to enter the United States. You do not need a visa if you come from one of the following thirty-five countries:

Individuals from countries not listed above are required to attain a Business Visitor Visa. For information on attaining a Business Visitor Visa, please visit the website of the Bureau of Consular Affairs at the U.S. Department of State.

If you require a visa, you will need to apply at the closest U.S. Embassy or Consulate Office. To locate the U.S. Embassy or Consular Office nearest you, please visit the website of the Bureau of Consular Affairs at the U.S. Department of State.

Provided below are basic requirements for applying for a visa. The most accurate information is provided by the U.S. Embassy or Consular Office nearest you and it is highly recommended that you visit the website of the Bureau of Consular Affairs at the U.S. Department of State.

In order to apply for a visa, you will need the following documentation:

o  Online Nonimmigrant Visa Electronic Application, Form DS-160. Please visit the U.S. Department of State’s website on the DS-160 Form for information on your local Embassy.

o  A valid passport with a validity date at least six months beyond your intended period of stay in the U.S.

o  One (1) 2x2 photograph.

o  Applicants will have to pay the nonimmigrant visa application processing fee. If a visa is issued, he/she will pay the visa issuance fee.


Traveling to the Phoenix Park Hotel

There are three airports in the greater-Washington D.C. area: the Baltimore/Washington International (BWI) airport, Dulles International Airport, and Reagan National Airport. Provided below are helpful links for information on the airports and information about ground transportation to travel from the airport to the Phoenix Park Hotel in Washington D.C.

·  Dulles International Airport in Virginia is approximately 28 miles from Capitol Hill, Washington D.C.

Taxi

o  Washington Flyer Taxicabs exclusively serve Dulles International Airport, providing 24-hour service to and from the Airport. No prior reservations are required. Please follow the signs for “Ground Transportation” or “Taxi” to the lower level of the Main Terminal, where a taxicab dispatcher is on duty 24 hours a day and will assist you.

o  A taxi from Dulles to the Phoenix Park Hotel costs between about US$ 57 and US$ 61.

SuperShuttle Van

o  SuperShuttle is a door-to-door shared ride van service that will take you from Dulles International Airport directly to the Phoenix Park Hotel.

o  Rates vary depending on the service type and number of guests. Please visit the link here to see the rates.

o  No prior reservations are required. For more information on SuperShuttle Vans, or if you are interested in making a reservation to go to the airport, please visit the SuperShuttle website, or call (202) 296-6662.

Metrorail

o  The nearest Metrorail station to Dulles Airport is West Falls Church Station on the Orange line. Direct transportation to West Falls Church Station is available through the Washington Flyer Coach Service.

-  To purchase a Washington Flyer Coach service ticket, visit the Washington Flyer Coach ticket counter at Arrivals Door #4 in the Main Terminal. You will also board the Coach from this location. The buses leave Dulles Airport about every 30 minutes, but it is important to listen for announcements for exact bus departure times.

-  You can purchase Metrorail tickets inside the West Falls Church station. From the West Falls Church station, take the Orange line metro (towards New Carrollton), transfer to the Red line (towards Glenmont) at the Metro Center station, and ride the Red line for three stops to Union Station. The Phoenix Park is a block from Union Station (see map).

·  The Baltimore/Washington International (BWI) Airport is located in Maryland, approximately 32 miles from Washington D.C. Traveling by car between BWI and the Phoenix Park Hotel can take between 50 and 70 minutes.

Taxi

o  A taxicab from BWI to the Phoenix Park Hotel will cost approximately US$ 90. No reservations are needed in advance, as cabs are available at BWI 24 hours per day. Cabs are located at the curb outside the baggage claim areas. For more information on the BWI Airport Taxi service, please visit the website here.

Private Car

o  To arrange for a private car through Private Car/RMA Worldwide Chauffeured Transportation Service, please make a reservation online here, or call 301-912-0000.

Amtrak (Train)

o  BWI Airport also connects to the Amtrak railroad/train system. You can take the train from the BWI Marshall Rail Station to Union Station. There are free shuttles available throughout the day between the airport terminal and the BWI Marshall Rail Station. Shuttle stops are located on the lower level terminal roadway between door numbers 1 & 2, 8 & 9, 14 & 15, and 17 & 18.

o  To purchase Amtrak tickets from the BWI Marshall Rail Station to Union Station, please visit the Amtrak website. Amtrak tickets must be purchased prior to the trip. While same-day tickets are available, they are usually more expensive and are based on availability.

·  Reagan National Airport is in Washington D.C., conveniently located on the Metrorail system. It is the closest airport to the Phoenix Park Hotel.

Taxi

o  Taxicabs are available 24 hours per day, at the curb outside the baggage claim area. For more information on taxicabs, please download the document available here.

o  A taxi from Reagan National Airport to the Phoenix Park Hotel should cost approximately US$ 11 plus a US$ 2.50 taxi fee, for a total of around US$ 14.

Private Car

o  To arrange for a private car, please make a reservation through SuperShuttle.

SuperShuttle Van

o  SuperShuttle van service is also available at Reagan National Airport.

o  Rates vary depending on the service type and number of guests. Please follow this link for rates from Reagan National Airport to the Phoenix Park Hotel.

o  SuperShuttle vans are available on an on-demand basis and are available on the outside curb outside the baggage claim area.

Metrorail

o  To take the Washington Metro Rail system from Reagan National Airport to Union Station, please take either:

-  The Blue line (towards Largo Town Center), transfer to the Red line (towards Glenmont) at Metro Center Station, and ride the Red line for three stops to Union Station.

OR

-  The Yellow line (towards Georgia Ave-Petworth), transfer to the Red line (towards Glenmont) at Gallery Place-Chinatown Station, and ride the Red line for two stops to Union Station.
