First, make sure you have read the assigned readings in your textbook about the Judicial System (Ch. 14). Then read the New York Times article I have posted (next to this assignment) about the U.S. Supreme Court decision regarding DC’s gun laws that took place on June 26. Using what you have learned about the theories of the proper role of the judiciary, answer the following question. Your answer must be typed and can be no more than 1 page (single or double spaced).

Is this decision more consistent with the concept of judicial restraint or the concept of judicial activism? Explain your answer. In your explanation, be sure to explicitly cite both the relevant parts of the definition of the concept you choose and also as the relevant facts from the article that you think fit that definition.
