PART 1 - GENERAL

1.1 Work of this section includes:

.1 Provide fixed overhead projection screens in all renovated classrooms

and/or as indicated on the drawings.

1.2 Submittals

.1 Submit manufacturer’s data and shop drawings.

PART 2 - PRODUCTS

2.1 Projection Screens

.1 Where indicated on the drawings, provide the following products of

Draper Shade & Screen Co., or similar DA-Lite, Inc. products or equal products of other manufacturer approved in advance by the Architect.

.2 Manual Screen:

.1 Case: Heavy gauge octagonal steel case, flat black design, baked enamel finish, heavy duty chrome plated steel end caps.

.2 Screen Fabric:

.1 “White Magic” Screen: Fiberglass matt white surface with masking borders on flame resistant (NFPA-701) mildew resistant, seamless fabric.

.2 Bottom of Fabric: Mounted into metal strip in tubular steel slat finished in baked enamel.

.3 Top of Fabric: Mounted into a metal strip in a metal camlock roller system.

.4 Provide blank (black) space at top minimum 24” to allow lower projection area.

.3 Typical Classroom: Manual style, 70” square screen surface, LUMA, suspended from steel brackets attached to case for ceiling mounting. Controlled screen return. Pull cord.

PART 3 - EXECUTION

3.1 Surface Conditions

.1 Examine the areas and conditions under which work of this section will be performed. Correct conditions detrimental to timely and proper completion of the work. Do not proceed until unsatisfactory conditions are corrected.

3.2 Installation

.1 Coordinate as required with other trades to assure proper and adequate provision in the work of those trades for interface with the work of this section.

.2 Install the work of this section in strict accordance with the original design, the approved shop drawings, pertinent requirements of governmental agencies having jurisdiction, and the manufacturer’s recommended installation procedures as approved by the Project Architect, anchoring all components firmly into position for long life under hard use.

3.3 Screens

.1 At classrooms, support at ceiling line butt off of wall (at 8”± out from wall or cabinets below), with appropriate supports firmly anchored to ceiling grid. Shim down ½” for proper alignment of tegular edge acoustic panels. Provide additional hangar wire from grid at attachment points up to structural deck.
