Directions for logging in to your secure webpage

Because we are returning information online we have implemented the SSL protocol to encrypt and protect this data. If you want to know more about this protocol a general description is provided at:

1. Go to the ABLELink Helpsite (http://literacy.kent.edu/ablelink) and click on the Secure Login link

2. You will get a security alert (pictured below) about the secure certificate not being issued by one of the "built in" trusted sources. (Companies that sell certificates).

You may install the certificate and this will add it to the trusted list.

OR

If you choose not to install, you will get the Security Alert message each time you visit the page. In that case, just click Yes to proceed to the Login page (skip to step # 10 in these directions).

Installing the Security Certificate

To install the certificate as a trusted site, click on “View Certificate”


3. When you view the certificate information click on “Install Certificate…”.

4. In the Certificate Import Wizard, Click on “Next”.

5. In the Certificate Import Wizard, Click on “Next” again to let Windows automatically select a certificate store.


6. Click on Finish to complete installing the certificate

7. You will get a confirmation window. Click OK.


8. Click On OK on the Certificate Window

9. Click on Yes in the Security Alert window to proceed

10. You will be directed to a Log In page.


Logging into the Online Information Page


1. Enter your Program’s IRN # and Minor Site Code into the correct fields and click “Login”

If you do not know your program’s IRN # and/or Minor Site Code, you can access this by going to your Set Up/Options Tab on the Main Menu

2. Your program’s IRN # and Minor Site Code are located on the Options Tab in the lower right-hand corner

3. Once you have obtained this information, enter it into the Log In Page and hit the Log In button

4. If you get a box asking if you want Windows to remember this password, click “No”. You do not want this information saved to your computer

5. You will now be directed to the Welcome Page. Click on the link you wish to view
