A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND AND CONGRATULATE THE DORMAN HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY BOYS’ SOCCER TEAM OF SPARTANBURG FOR WINNING THE 2001 CLASS AAAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP ON SATURDAY, MAY 12, 2001, AND TO WISH THEM MUCH ATHLETIC AND ACADEMIC SUCCESS IN THE FUTURE.

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina honor the Dorman High School Boys’ Soccer Team of Spartanburg for winning the 2001 Class AAAA State Championship on Saturday, May 12, 2001, at Memorial Stadium in Columbia; and

Whereas, the Dorman High School Boys’ Soccer Team finished the season with an astounding overall record of twentyone wins and two losses and an undefeated conference record with fourteen wins; and

Whereas, the Dorman Cavaliers showed great character and class in addition to a winning attitude as they defeated Ridge View High School one to zero in the championship game; and

Whereas, the team won their third straight Region IIAAAA Championship this year, but this was the first State Championship victory for the Dorman High School Boys’ Soccer Team; and

Whereas, the Dorman High School Varsity Boys’ Soccer Team was lead by Coach Carlos Osorio, who was named as the Region IIAAAA Coach of the Year; and

Whereas, the House of Representatives applauds the members of the Dorman High School Varsity Boys’ Soccer Team and their Coach Carlos Osorio on their fantastic season and their exciting championship win. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commend and congratulate the Dorman High School Varsity Boys’ Soccer Team of Spartanburg led by Coach Carlos Osorio for winning the 2001 Class AAAA State Championship on Saturday, May 12, 2001, and wish them much athletic and academic success in the future.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Coach Carlos Orsorio on behalf of the Dorman High School Boys’ Soccer Team.
