*****7th grade teams will play at FORBES Middle School.

Welcome to the Forbes/Tippit “A” and “B” team volleyball tournament. Attached you will find a pool play schedule and bracket. Other details are as follows:

Entry Fee: The entry fee is $100.00 per team ($400.00 for all four teams). Please mail a check made out to Georgetown I.S.D. to the following address:

Admission: Adults are $4.00 per day. Students are $2.00 per day.

Equipment: Warm-up balls will be provided for you. Please tell your players thatballs may only be used in the gyms…not in the hallways.

Line Judges: Each team will need to provide a line judge when they play.

Scorekeeper: Please provide an official scorekeeper when you are the HOME book. The visiting team should supply someone to keep the score on the scoreboard. In pool play, the 1st team listed is the home team. Exceptions: Forbes 7th grade teams and Tippit8thgrade teams will always be the home team. An official scorebook will be provided.

Concessions: There will be a concession stand available both days. Drinks and snack items will be on sale as well as hot dogs, sausage wraps, pizza, Chick-Fil-A, etc.

Hospitality: A hospitality room will be provided for coaches and officials.

Awards: Plaques will be awarded for 1st , 2nd, and 3rd places as well as consolation. First and 2nd place teams will also receive medals.

2014FORBES/TIPPIT “A” & “B” VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT

GENERAL INFORMATION

Warm-Up: There will be an 8 minute warm-up prior to each match. (3 minutes for each team on net and 2 minute shared serving. Please have your teams ready to play 30 minutes prior to the scheduled time. If the tournament is running ahead of schedule, we will start matches early.

Home Team: First team listed is the home team. Exception: Forbes will always be home team in 7thgrade tournament and Tippit will always be home team in 8thgrade tournament.

Pool Play: Pool A games will be played in the main gym. Pool B will games will be played in the auxiliary gym. Total number of games won in each pool will determine Championship and Consolation bracket positions. Individual set (game) wins/losses will be recorded. Due to two teams dropping out of the tournament this week, pool play will consist of 3 rally scoring games to 15 beginning at 0-0. You must win by 2 points (20 pt. cap). If teams are tied on their game win/loss record, the winner will be determined by:

  1. head to head competition
  2. total points given up in all games
  3. coin toss

Bracket Play: Bracket play will consist of the best 2 out of 3 games with the 3rd game played to 15 points (20-point cap). There is a 30-point on the other 2 games of a match.
