45th Terrell Invitational enjoys another successful year

The Terrell Invitational wrapped up its 45th year on May 2nd. This year’s tournament hosted 76 teams, 206 doubles pairings, and 384 singles participants. A prize fund of over $15,000 was paid out this year. We would like to congratulate our 5 bowlers who rolled perfect games; Steve Merten, Will Benson, Jason Calton, Kenneth Johns and Frank English. Bowlers from all parts of Texas and Oklahoma made their way to Terrell to take their shot at the prize funds and enjoy the hospitality of our local community during the three weeks of competiton.

This year’s Team champions are Rocky’s team from Forney with a score of 3567, the team members were Roger Spicer Sr., Rocky Seigmund, James Maston, Rick Peterson and Ricky Campbell. Our doubles champions are Ernie Clark and Jett Hendricks rolling a 1502 series, Singles event this year goes to Jason Calton which included one of our 300 games for a 776 total. The Handicap All-Events champion is William Freeman with a 2193, with Scratch All-Events going to Chris Cranford with a 2165 total. The Scratch Team event winners tossing a 3376 were the Sandbaggers from Heartland comprised of Randy Richey, Cody Mollenhauer, West Holmes, Chris Cranford and Don Richey. The Scratch doubles champions are Ron Williams and Joe Lecroy who posted a 1477 total and Scratch Singles go to Don Richey with a 771.

Phil and Susie Clark of Clark’s Promotions, and Josh Orr and Bill Russell of Terrell Bowling Center would like to thank all of this year’s bowlers for their participation. We look forward to seeing all of our friends at the East Texas Open this summer and at the Terrell Invitational next year. Entry forms for the 5th East Texas Open are now available at local bowling centers and on line at Entry deadline for the East Texas Open is June 5 and your team’s entry must be postmarked by that date to be entered in the drawings for the 900 Global bowling balls.
