The City is in the process of updating its Comprehensive Plan by adding a Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan and a Downtown Plan. The Planning Director will play a vital role in the implementation of the plans in progress plus working with Shelby County to jointly update land use, transportation and community facilities elements of their Comprehensive plans

The City prides itself in hiring talented individuals who are dedicated to their profession and desire to advance their skills in a team oriented environment.

If you are energetic, quality motivated, knowledgeable about the Principles and Practice of Planning, have a strong sense of community service and are citizen/client oriented, we would really like to talk to you about the position.
