As mankind adopted the agrarian lifestyle and the nomads settled into a sedentary way of life women lost their economic equality and would not regain it until the Industrial Revolution brought women back to work place. Between 1750-1914 women in Western Europe regained some of their economic power but remained socially subservient to their husbands and fathers, and politically disenfranchised in East Asia and in Western Europe
