Position Opening:
South Jersey Turf Consultants is seeking a qualified individual to join our team of agronomists. The position is quite unique in that the candidate will serve a multi- purpose role within the company. Beginning in March thru September, the candidate will assume the full time duty of Head Sports Turf Manager for the Camden River Sharks of the Independent League. This position will entail full responsibility of daily field operations including development and implementation of agronomic program for turf management, Infield skin management and irrigation input and management. The candidate will oversee a game time staff of four individuals and shall be responsible for field prep and all weather related relations. The head groundskeeper shall be responsible for purchasing and managing an operating budget and help develop a long term capital improvement budget for equipment and daily operations. The organization is under new management and SJTC will be conducting significant capital improvements to the field in the fall of 2015 including sod renovation of existing infield and apron areas, infield skin work and warning track re development. Additional work shall follow in 2016.
Following the season at the stadium, the candidate shall assume full time duties with the staff of SJTC and become involved with our sports turf division in the daily operations. This will include management and applications to sports turf fields, infield skin and prep work, aerification and seeding of sports fields and athletic field construction and renovation. Candidate shall assist full time staff in development and implementation of agronomic program for fields, budget analysis and daily operations.
