2017 Brighton Bulldogs Summer Information

Words from the Coach:

The Dugout Brighton Bulldogs summer baseball program is pleased to announce another summer season of Bulldog baseball.

The program will offer affordable prices that include top-level coaches, tournaments and participation in a competitive league. Having a summer team is vital to the success of the player’s development and the program. The Dugout Brighton Bulldog teams will be comprised of dedicated, talented, and hardworking players from all over our Brighton community and surrounding areas to fill the roster. The Dugout Brighton Bulldogs baseball program is designed for top performing players to play in one of Colorado’s most competitive summer baseball programs. The Dugout Brighton Bulldog teams will play a full summer schedule in the Colorado League and tournaments selected to expose the players to the best baseball at their age.

Teams:

Players at the incoming level could potentially play at the 17U level at any given time during the summer based on coaching evaluations. Ideally in the summer we would like to fill a 12-15 player competitive roster, to aid players going on vacation or missing games.

We will attempt to field 5 teams this summer. Each team will play between 40-60 games.

League and State Tournament play will be through Colorado baseball leagues. In addition to Colorado league play, each of our teams will play in several tournaments. We will post further details soon as they become available.

Philosophy

We feel that summer baseball is very important for the development of players. The more that they can play and experience the better they will become. We encourage them to play as much as they possibly can.

Transportation The players are responsible for their transportation and we hope that parents can set up a ride share situation to assist with that. Players are allowed to drive to games but obviously that won’t work for all the freshmen. Coaches at times, maybe able to assist with travel hic cups that may occur.

Other Sports during the Season We have always worked closely with the football and basketball coaches to work out sharing athletes. We do that to keep the pressure off of the players having to make a choice. That also goes for any other activity that they may be involved.

Missing Games We understand that there will be family activities that may come up throughout the summer. There is no problem if players miss games for those activities but we just ask that each player email coaches the dates that they will be gone as soon as they know. Again our goal is for them to play as much as they possibly can.
