2015-2016 COACH CONTRACT

ICE Fastpitch Organization believes that the essential elements of character building and ethics in sports are incorporated in the concept of sportsmanship and the “six pillars of character”: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and good citizenship. With these, our athletes can obtain their highest potential. All coaches in the organization must agree to the following:

  1. Show respect to others, including players, umpires, families and spectators.
  2. Will teach the fundamentals of the game using age appropriate drills and instruction.
  3. Set a good example for players and parents alike.
  4. Will not criticize an opposing team, its players, coaches, or fans verbally or by gestures.
  5. Recognize good play and encourage greater effort when mistakes are made.
  6. Recognize initiative and hustle.
  7. Congratulate the winning team and encourage the losing team.
  8. Will not yell at officials, doing so shows disrespect for the game and sets a poor standard of sportsmanship. Disagreements with umpires should be handled in a civil manner. Serious issues should be handled after the game in private, out of the view of players and spectators.
  9. Will not use vulgar or profane language, or make inappropriate remarks when with the team.
  10. Will dress tastefully, in a manner consistent with coaching young athletes.
  11. Will remember that all managers, coaches, scorekeepers, and board members are volunteers, and will strive to make their involvement a positive experience.
  12. Along with game officials, will be responsible for the conduct and control of the team and spectators. Anyone displaying aggressive or out-of-control behavior will be asked to leave the area. Remember that fan and player reaction is often in step with that of the coach.
  13. Will leave all facilities clean upon departure.
  14. Clarkston Community Schools fields will all be scheduled through Jan Pingston.
  15. Will ensure that your team fulfills volunteer obligations needed by the Organization to sustain the fundraising activities (Charitable Gaming and ICE Breaker Tournament).
  16. Will be responsible for outfitting the team in Organization approved uniforms.
  17. Must use Organization approved sources for all ICE apparel (spirit wear).
  18. Will be responsible for entering their teams into tournaments, leagues, and/or scrimmages.
