2008 Clarence Griep Scholarship
Description
Professor Clarence Griep (pronounced “Grip”) taught at the University of Dubuque in the 1960’s and ‘70’s until his untimely death. He was a strong advocate for world peace. In his name, we award one scholarship to a graduating senior from each Dubuque County high school.
Eligibility
The scholarship shall be awarded to a resident of Dubuque County who plans to attend any public or private college, university, or technical school during the fall semester after graduating from a Dubuque County high school.
Application
To apply for the scholarship award, complete the attached application form following the Application Procedures listed below. All applications will be considered. You do not need to be nominated to apply.
Application Procedures
1)Fill out the attached application form.
2)Mail the application form, a letter of recommendation from an unrelated adult who knows you well, and your essay to:

3)Applications must be received by March 31, 2008. Recipients will be notified of the award by phone or mail. The winners will be honored at the Annual Democratic Hall of Fame Dinner in the Spring of 2008. The check will be mailed directly to the student’s account at the school of their choice by the Fall semester.
Note: All information received by the Scholarship Committee is confidential and will only be used to select a scholarship recipient.
