A SENATE RESOLUTION
TO OFFER THE WARMEST CONGRATULATIONS TO MR. AND MRS. WALTER MOSLEY, JR., OF EDGEFIELD ON THE OCCASION OF THEIR FIFTIETH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY, AND TO EXTEND TO THEM AND THEIR FAMILY EVERY GOOD WISH FOR SUCCESS, HEALTH, AND CONTINUED HAPPINESS IN THE YEARS TO COME.
Whereas, Walter and Gertrude Mosley were united in holy matrimony on March 6, 1955, at the home of Reverend Johnnie Bowman in Edgefield; and
Whereas, both graduated from Edgefield Academy High School in May, 1954, and are native and lifelong residents of Edgefield; and
Whereas, over the course of their marriage, Walter and Gertrude Mosley have raised three beautiful and loving children: two sons, Gerald Tyrone Mosley and Timothy Edward Mosley, and a daughter, Angela M. Campbell. They are also proud to boast three grandchildren; and
Whereas, both have enjoyed successful careers in their chosen professions; and
Whereas, Walter has worked for over fifty years as an accomplished brick mason. He has constructed countless private, commercial, and governmental projects in and around Edgefield including the town hall, police and fire departments, post office, the Edgefield Historical Wall, and the base for the Senator Strom Thurmond Statue displayed on the town square; and
Whereas, Gertrude has worked in the health care profession as a Licensed Practical Nurse for over thirty years at the University Hospital in Augusta and at the Edgefield Health Care Center; and
Whereas, both Walter and Gertrude are widely respected pillars of the Edgefield community and throughout the Central Savannah River Area. Both continue to work tirelessly serving their community and contributing to the unique social fabric of Edgefield; and
Whereas, March 6, 2005, marks the Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary of Walter and Gertrude Mosley. This is an important milestone in their lives, marking fifty years of love, devotion, and mutual support that enables them to be the strong supportive couple they are to family, friends, and neighbors; and
Whereas, the members of the Senate are proud to express their warmest regards to the couple on this momentous occasion. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the South Carolina State Senate, by this resolution, offer the warmest congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Walter Mosley, Jr., of Edgefield on the occasion of their Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary, and extend them and their family every good wish for success, health, and continued happiness in the years to come.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. and Mrs. Walter Mosley, Jr.
