V.SCORING:

1)Each week’s match will be played for a total of six (6) points.

2)Points will be distributed as follows:

a)The low handicap players from each team will play a match for two (2) points. In the case of ties, each player will receive one (1) point.

b)The high handicap players from each team will play a match for two (2) points. In the case of ties, each player will receive one (1) point.

a.When both players on the same team have identical handicaps, the player with the lower player number will play as the low handicap)

c)Team A will match their low net score for the hole against Team B’s low net score for the hole to determine which Team wins the hole. NET means applying your Handicap strokes on a per hole basis if applicable.

d)Because of the speed of play rule, a player must pick up when they reach double par for the hole without holeing the ball. In this event the team will concede points for the hole. If both teams concede the hole is pushed.

a.Example:

b.Team A has a Total Team score of 10 on hole #1 with no handicap strokes. Their total team NET score for the hole is a 10.

c.Team B has a Total Team score of 10 on the same hole with 1 handicap stroke. Their total team NET score for the hole is a 9.

d.Team B wins the hole.

e.The team that wins the most holes will get two (2) points. If there is a tie, each team will get one (1) point.

e)There will be two halves of league. Nine games for first half and nine games for second half. The 1st half winner will play the 2nd half winner for a league champion. The match will be played on the 19th week with a single four some teeing off to determine league champion. In event of a tie of the first half or second half winner, the team who wins the most points from a head to head team match (total of 6 points available), will determine the winner of the half.

Scorecards are available on the league web site. Please print your team match scorecard before you arrive at the golf course. Two score cards should be kept during play, one by each team. The cards should be compared upon the completion of play. One card will be attested and turned in at the end of that night’s play.

When using a substitute, you must print the substitutes name, email and phone number clearly on the score card otherwise we rule that sub’s points WILL NOT count without this info.

To be eligible for the League Champion, a minimum of 5 games per player/per half season of participation of league match play is required (a total of 10, 5 first half and 5 second half). In case of a tie in the championship match, for any significant position, a sudden victory playoff will be arranged. The scoring format for such playoff shall be the same as the SCORING above, except that the points shall be computed at the end of each playoff hole. The team that has more points after the completion of a hole shall be declared Champions.

VI.HANDICAPS:

1)The first week of the League, all players (including substitutes) will establish a new handicap using the HANDICAP TABLE below.

2)The second night, all players will use the handicap that was established on the first night.

3)After the second night, all handicaps will be computed from current league scores according to the HANDICAP TABLE below.

4)Adjusted score rule (HANDICAP PURPOSES ONLY): Any strokes over a triple bogey will be subtracted.

5)Should both players on a team have the same handicap, the player with the lowest player number will be considered the low handicap player for that week. If the Substitute is the Low HCP for a team, they will play the Low HCP player from the opposing team.

6)Themaximum handicap allowed (men or women) is 18. Therefore, the maximum number of strokes allow per hole is two.

7)There is no minimum handicap. Further, the computer program will calculate negative handicaps. Negative handicaps will affect strokes given or received in individual match play; however, the maximum number of strokes is two (2) per hole as described above. Any such negative handicap will cause a stroke to be added to the players score on the easiest hole(s) for use in the team better ball competition.

8)Handicaps will be based on a player’s best rounds played during the course of the league season and will be recomputed after each round using the HANDICAP TABLE below.

9)The handicap for substitutes will be established at the end of their first round using the HANDICAP TABLE.

10)Substitutes for the last two nights of league play for each half must have an established Twilight league handicap, which means they must have played on a League night at Los Robles Greens during the current season. If all qualified sub’s are taken, or unavailable you may use a sub that has an established handicap from the prior year. That sub will use their prior year handicap for that round.

11)The USGA Slope System, designed to assign handicaps for players visiting different golf courses, will not be used for league play. Moreover, Twilight League handicaps are not assignable to other golf courses.

12)For individual match play, the Men’s handicap hole ratings will be used. For example, when a lady is matched against a gentleman, the strokes will fall on the mens handicap holes as noted on the provided score cards (program limitation).

VII.FORFEITS, LATE PLAYERS and SLOW PLAY:

A.FORFEITS:

1)Teams will begin play on their scheduled start time or in their scheduled “sequence” should there be a late start by the Golf Course. Teams should be at the tee box 15 minutes before their schedule time.

2)A forfeit will be declared when the player is not at the first tee, ready to play, at his/her scheduled start time or sequence. See section B. LATE PLAYER for those situations where a late player may be allowed to join the golfers who have teed off already.

3)WHEN AN ENTIRE TEAM FAILS TO APPEAR Six (6) points are awarded to the team that shows up. The team must play their round and submit a scorecard. These scores will not be used for handicap purposes.

4)WHEN ONE TEAM MEMBER FAILS TO APPEAR His/her partner will play the match alone. Two (2) points will automatically go to the absent player's opponent. The lone player will play for a possible four (4) points. He/she will play the appropriate handicap player for two (2) points and both opposing players Metal play for the team two (2) points.

5)WHEN ONE MEMBER OF EACH TEAM FAILS TO APPEAR The two players who appear will play for all six (6) points.

B.LATE PLAYER:

A late player, arriving after the above noted five (5) minutes, may join his or her group, however, the score from that player shall neither be used for the match nor for handicap purposes. In this case the late player’s team will forfeit that individual’s two points.

Note: A player may request a schedule change to the LAST start time. However, such a change will only be granted with the advance agreement of the opposing team.

C.SLOW PLAY:

To encourage speedy play, please hit provisional shots if there is any question that the ball is OB or lost, or the area hit into is not marked as a “red hazard area”. No provisional will be played if your ball is hit into the red hazard area.

If your original ball is not found in play or discovered ‘OB” and a provisional ball was not hit, drop a ball from a position closest to where the ball was lost (agreed upon by you and the opposing team) with a two stroke penalty. DO NOT GO BACK TO THE TEE BOX AND HIT ANOTHER BALL.(Example: if your tee shot is hit into the rough and no provisional was hit and the original ball can not be found, drop your next shot closest to where you believe the ball was lost. Your next shot would then be your fourth stroke. Tee shot – stroke one, lost ball stroke two, drop and distance stroke three, resume play stroke four)

When a tee shot or fairway shot is hit into a “red hazard zone” a one shot penalty will be taken, the ball will be dropped within two club lengths of where it crossed into the hazard. A drop also may be placed as far back from the hazard on a line to the flag.

In order to facilitate a round of 2 ½ hours or less for 9 holes, any player that has reached the score of double par, before holing out, must pick up and count the “double” par as the score. Par 3 = 6, par 4 = 8, par 5 = 10. On any hole, if both the player and their opponent score a “double par”, the hole is considered “halved” and the double par score will be used towards the team total for the match.

  • PLAY READY GOLF
  • No honors on the tee.
  • Have putts lined up and be ready to hit when it’s your turn.
  • No more than half of a hole behind/keep up with the group in front of you.
  • Don’t look for you ball for more then 5 minutes (Rules limit!)
