Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Bay Area

Big Brothers/Big Sisters seeks volunteer mentors for youth six to sixteen. We cover counties in Michigan: Delta, Dickinson, and Menominee. We also cover one county in WI: Marinette. Our mission is to facilitate and enhance the positive development of youth through volunteer friendship, mentoring and outreach services. Assistance and training is available to volunteers! Commitment is usually around four to six hours per month and have the choice of either community-based or school-based programs. Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Menominee County

CASA seeks caring individuals to advocate for children involved in the court system due to allegations of neglect or abuse. Volunteers are screened, trained, and supported as they ensure the child’s voice is heard and make recommendations in the best interest of the child to the court. Crossing Rivers Support Group

Crossing Rivers Support Group is looking for volunteer meeting facilitators. We are committed to helping those with issues such as depression, suicide, grief, bullying, and alcohol/drugs abuse. Getting Ahead Program is looking for volunteer meeting facilitators. They are is a well-established program designed to assist people living in poverty in making the first and most important step toward the life they want, that is, taking charge of their own lives. Haven of Hope

Haven of Hope is looking for help in supervising the homeless shelter. Duties include supervision of residents and facilitation of the shelter’s choice. Healthy Youth Coalition

Healthy Youth Coalition seeks volunteers to assist with the Swing Into Action Golf Tournament. It is scheduled for Friday, June 16 from 11:30am until 5:00pm at the North Shore Golf Course. OSF Hospice seeks volunteers in Menominee and surrounding areas. Their volunteers have unique duties, such as spending time with the terminally ill to provide a listening ear, giving caregivers the opportunity to attend appointments, going to lunch, or, in some cases, just taking a nap, knowing that their loved one is not alone. The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army seeks volunteers to help Westlund Bus Lines and Walmart to gather needed school supplies and clothing for area childcare. The bus will be at Walmart on Friday and Saturday, August 4 and 5 and also 11 and 12 from 9:00am until 5:00pm. Two volunteers are needed for each two-hour shift. Twin Counties Free Clinic (TCFC)

TCFC seeks for doctors and nurses to volunteer their time in the clinic. This free clinic is open to Marinette/Menominee county residents who meet income guidelines - at or below 200% of the federal poverty level and are not insured.
