12th Cavalry Regiment Association Reunion in Branson Missouri
The 8th annual 12th Cavalry Regiment Association Reunion will be held at the Savannah House Hotel - Branson, 165 Expressway Lane, Branson, Missouri, beginning Wednesday, September 11th through Sunday, September 15th, 2013. Check out at the hotel will be September 15th. Our banquet dinner will be held Saturday evening, from 6:30 – 10:30 PM, (pictures will be at 5:30 PM) on September 14th at the Camden Hotel, 275 Tanger Blvd., Branson. Transportation to the banquet is provided. We expect our largest group ever this year, so make your reservations early at the Savannah Hotel. Rooms for the 12th Cav will only be held 30 days prior to the event (until August 11th). Room rates are $78 per night plus tax, room rate includes complimentary hot, deluxe breakfast each morning and complimentary dessert bar each evening. Please mention that you are with the 12th Cav reunion to get this rate (prices are good for three days before and three days after the reunion dates at the hotel). As is the case every year, we do not add any charge to the prices shown. Most of us live on a fixed income and we don’t want to make this any more expensive than it really is.
Wednesday evening, September 11th, from 6:30 PM- 9 PM, there will be a reception at the hospitality suite at the Savannah. Vegetable plates with dip, deserts, etc. will be available. There will be a charge of $11.00 per person for this.
Thursday afternoon, September 12th, at 3 PM, we have booked the Legends in Concert at the American Bandstand Theater. Charge is $19 per person (regular tickets are $35). The American Bandstand Theater is at 1600 W. Highway 76 on the strip. You will provide your own transportation.
Friday evening at 8 PM, September 13th, we have made reservations at the #1 Hits of the 60’s Show at the Caravelle Theater. Charge is $18 per person. (The Caravelle Theater is at 3446 W Highway 76 (across from the Mickey Gilley Theater and next door to the Jim Stafford Theater). You will provide your own transportation.
The Saturday 6:30 PM banquet dinner will be $21.00 per guest, inclusive. It will be a buffet dinner featuring Swiss steak, baked chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, rice pilaf, carrots, Antigua vegetables, carrot cake and peach cobbler. Our guest speaker at the banquet will be Gene Beyer, Colonel (Retired) formerly CO of A 1st/502nd, 101st Airborne at Ft. Campbell, CO of A Company, 229th Aviation from April, 1967 to April, 1968 in Vietnam, and G-3 Aviation Division Chief, 18th Airborne Corps at Ft. Bragg. Gene and his wife Jenny are regular attendees of the 12th Cavalry reunion and the 1st Cavalry reunion. Transportation by bus will be provided to and from the Banquet Dinner at the Camden Hotel, about 8 minutes away. We will depart at 5:30 PM from the Hospitality Suite at the Savannah House Hospitality Suite and return at 10:30 PM that same night.
The Sunday morning memorial service will be at 10 AM (could be changed) at the hospitality suite of the Savannah led by Colonel (Retired), Bill Lord, former Chaplain of the 1st/12th Cavalry (ABN) from 1965 to 1966.
Three airlines fly directly into Branson now. They are Frontier, Southwest and Sun Country. More information is available at www.flybranson.com. The Springfield Missouri airport is about 35 miles north of Branson. An RV Park, the America’s Best RV Park is about a mile and a half away from the Savannah Hotel, 499 Buena Vista Road,Branson, MO 65616, (417) 336-4399.
