*Meeting was called to order at 3:40pm on May 15th, 2014 at the Florida Department of Health in Leon County*

Partnership Training- New and Emerging Tobacco Products (Presentation)

-  Stephana Henry

o  New and Emerging Tobacco Products

§  Informational PowerPoint presentation on new tobacco product E-Cigarettes and emerging tobacco products: Hookah, Roll Your Own, and Mini Cigars.

§  Discussed for each tobacco product were their history, how they are utilized, the myths and misconceptions surrounding them, and finally the risks they have on consumers.

o  Following conclusion of presentation, members joined in a dialogue of the presented topics. Commenting on issues and facts they were unaware of and additional outside information that could relate to the presentation.

o  **Members continue to ponder over creative names for the “Open House” title

Tobacco Free Leon FY 14-15 Plans (Presentation)

§  She is from Kansas and knowledgeable on Tobacco products

·  Author of an E-cigarette article

o  New structure, work plan, and budget

§  Core concept is to mobilize and coordinate resources of Leon County to a Tobacco free community

§  Youth Prevention- SWAT program

·  “Not so Sweet 16” campaign

·  Annual summit

·  “Not a replacement” campaign

·  Focusing on the skills of SWAT members and accomplishing the goals of SWAT

·  Areas to improve: the advisory and the diversity among members.

§  Focus on Hookah usage of College students

§  Point of Sale advertising

o  Partnership structure

§  Fill in the following leadership roles- Youth chair, Liaison, and Secretary

§  Possible change of meeting area. Meetings may be conducted at schools to increase the potential for student attendance.

§  Partnership voting rights will be reviewed

§  There is an increase need within our partnership membership for variety within the sectors of our partnership

§  Invited members to attend the Relay for Life May 16th at FSU High as well as Faith Chapel Health Day May 17th

o  Big Bend AHEC

§  Invited members to attend the Roll-a-Thon May 17th at the St. Marks Historic Railroad State trail

Evaluation

o  Evaluation forms filled

§  Members filled out a meeting Evaluation form where they were able to voice their opinion on the Partnership meeting outcome, highlight on what they enjoyed best, as well as offer tips on what or where the meeting could improve.
