THE CELL REALM

By

INT. - HOSIPTAL ROOM - DAY

Darkness. Then a sound...

Cough, cough, cough...

Fade up to see...

A woman lying in the hospital bed. Her name is Tara Blanch she is in her mid twenties with Brown hair and blue eyes.

A man in his mid twenties also walks into the hospital room he is Tara’s husband. His name is John Blanch and is dressed in a suit. He is a scientist. He tilts his head to look at his young wife and speaks to her very slowly.

JOHN

So - The doctors have told me - that - there’s…(Begins to stutter) there’s, there’s, there’s nothing they can do for you.

She starts to weep and cry. He holds back his tears.

JOHN

-- I promise you I will cure you or die trying.

FADE OUT:

1 WEEK LATER

He is scribbling at lightning speed on a chalkboard. Suddenly he stops writing. He Steps back and looks at the equations.

JOHN

Does this make any sense to you?

A thin man with pale-dry skin is standing there. It is John’s best friend Alex Whittler.

INT. JOHN’S HOME - HALLWAY - DAY

John walks with Alex:

JOHN

... I’ve got to find a way to kill the cancer cells before they spread.

ALEX

And how exactly do you plan to do this?

JOHN

I don’t know but have an idea about entering the cell and some how destroy the key cell from the inside out and the other cancer cells will follow.

ALEX

If you need my help I will devote 24 hours a day to help you figure it out.

JOHN

Thanks a lot Alex you have no idea how much that means to me.

JOHN (CON’T)

We have to figure this out; the doctors are saying she doesn’t have much time left before the cancer will spread.

ALEX

Then we have to get started right now.

FADE OUT:

SUPEREMPOSE: FOUR DAYS LATER.

FADE IN:

INT. JOHN'S HOUSE - LAB - EARLY MORNING

Endless equations written across the blackboard. The light from the sunrise illuminates the room. We see a barrage of scientific equipment and experiments filling every inch of the room surrounding him. There is another large part of the lab. It is concealed from view.

A knock at the door -- John ignores it -- another knock.

He finally turns from the blackboard.

JOHN

What?!

And we see him -- John looks very different now. He is very intense; his face that looks like it has not seen the sun in weeks, his eyes are marked with distress.

Alex rushes through the door. He is wearing a Trench coat and hat.

ALEX

I’ve gotten the parts you need John.

Alex stares at John. He is shocked at the Look of his friend.

JOHN

What are you starring at?

ALEX

My God, John you look like shit!

JOHN

(Sharply)

That's because I'm working. You remember what I’m doing here don’t you?

ALEX

You care more about her life then you do about your own.

JOHN

She is my wife and I promised her that I would cure her or I would trying, and believe me I intend to do one or the other.

ALEX

I know that you love her but you can’t solve all the problems in the world.

JOHN

That's where you're wrong. I will solve her problem.

ALEX

Maybe John, maybe.

JOHN

In a few days ill cure her or we will both be dead.

ALEX

Ill talk to you later John I have to go.

CUT TO:

INT. JOHN'S HOUSE - LAB - LATE NIGHT

John sits, drinking a glass of Jack Denials. He is staring at the curtain concealing the other part of the lab.

He chugs down the glass of whiskey. Then he rises and moves to the curtain. He pulls the curtain back and reveals...

A machine sits there: It is a transporter with a drilling device attached to the front.

He walks away from the machine. He goes over to the telephone and picks it up and dials Alex’s number.

JOHN

Alex I need you to come over here and help me with something.

ALEX

What is it?

JOHN

Just get over here now it’s important.

FADE OUT:

30 MINUTES LATER

A knock at the door. John opens it.

ALEX

For Gods Sake John its 2:30 in the morning what the hell is it?

John just points in the direction of the machine.

We take in this beautiful creation.

JOHN

Now look Alex I am going to get inside of the machine and it will shrink down along with me inside of it. Once I shrink down you have to suck me up along with that fluid. It is sugar water type of fluid. Now once I am inside the syringe you must take it to the hospital and inject the solution with me in it into Tara. Do you understand?

ALEX

Look I understand what your saying but it sounds crazy.

JOHN

Never mind that it sounds crazy, just do it!

John moves to the machine. He sits, nervously settling in.

The brass control panel ahead of him has a simple display showing the status of his surroundings and a control lever that moves forward and back.

JOHN

Now I am going to kill the cells by releasing a controlled amount of peroxide to the nucleus of the main cell thus causing it to die and the smaller cells to follow. When I have killed the Cancer cells I will exit the body in the form of dead skin cells.

He takes a deep breath and then... reaches for the control lever. He pulls it back.

CUT TO:

EXT. HOSPITAL - EARLY MORNING

We see Alex walking into Tara’s hospital room. Tara is sleeping.

ALEX

All right here goes everything...

He takes her arm and injects the liquid into her.

John is now inside of Tara’s circulatory system floating through her blood stream.

Suddenly From all around him white blood cells start attacking his ship. He is taking hits left and right and damage is occurring to the ship. He activates a cloaking device and cleverly disguises himself as a white blood cell. He moves towards the main cancerous cell and activates his drill.

JOHN

(Looking around, alert, talking to himself)

All right now I’ve got to drill down to the nucleusin order to properly kill the cell. I’ve got to drill through the membrane and also through the lysosomes in order to reach the nucleus. Now if I drill through the lysosomes I can stop the digestion process and possibly kill the cells that way.

John starts drilling into the cell and breeches the membrane. Slowly he is working his way through the thick fluid.

Time passes and John digs deeper into the cell slowly making his way towards the lysosmoes, which are currently visible and are eating bacteria.

JOHN

(Talking to himself)

If I allow it to take me in I can save time instead of having to drill through it.

Suddenly he guns the ship towards the lysosomes and is taken in.

His body is thrown around as he jettisons forward through the cell -- as G-Force tears through him -- his whole body suffers as he bends and bounces around.

He's going too fast - He in a last second attempt to slow down he turns the ship sideways and rips through the lysosome wall.

Bizarre looking shapes move around him throughout his world. He stops dead in front of the Endoplasmic Reticulum. He moves to the exterior of the smoother portion of the ER molecule and starts to drill through it.

He gets through the ninety nine percent of the way through the ER Molecule and expects to breech the nucleus when suddenly he rips through the wall of the ER Molecule and hits something that he did not expect to find.

Empty space between the two portions of the cell.

JOHN

Holy Shit!!!

John keeps thrusting forward and suddenly he enters the nucleus.

Darkness.

The eerie glow from the machine's control panel is the only light.

John is now inside nucleus.

He slows the machine down and eventually stops.

John immediately pulls back on the control lever to release the peroxide solution into the nucleus. He releases it and suddenly the cell starts to wrinkle and expand, Suddenly the cell explodes around him. A ripple effect occurs and sends shards of cell wall flying into the cancer cells around it. It kills the surrounding cancer cells and sends John in the ship flying at rapid speeds.

Fade to black...

INT. HOSPITAL ROOM - SUNSET

VIEW POINT: THE HOSPITAL BED

It is Tara’s bed, she is not in it. There is dried up skin lying on her bed. Suddenly electrical charges start shooting around the room; a ship starts to grow out of the skin, practically out of thin air. The ship crushes everything in its path. When it grows fully back to size John emerges from it and finds himself unharmed.

Suddenly the ship implodes upon itself and crushes into a small piece of metal on the bed.

Tara walks into the room.

TARA

Oh my God! What the hell happened in here?

JOHN

It’s a long story. Ill tell you all about it later. Where were you?

TARA

I was being tested and I have great news John, I tested free of all cancer.

John says nothing. He just sits down next to her and holds her in his arms smiling.

=THE END=
