2e Année Français - Examen d’été

Your exam will consist of three parts

  1. An Oral (speaking) exam (25%): Takes place during class time before the exams. Two parts: General conversation and roleplay

2. An Aural (listening) exam (25%): Again, takes place during class at start of May. Listeningto a CD in French and answering questions about it in English.

3. A written exam (50%) which involves:

a)Readinglots of different texts in French and answering questions about them.

b) Writing a letter and a postcard in French about a list of things given to you in English (just like we have done for homework and in tests)

How should I revise?

  1. Go back through all the vocab in your hardbacks
  2. Go back through the ‘Lexique’summaries at the end of each chapter of Bonnes Nouvelles 1 and 2: these contain the essential vocab in each topic - SEE LIST BELOW
  3. Learn the letter/postcard layout (place, date, opening and ending phrases)
  4. Go back through the grammar at the back of your hardbacks and in the two textbooks. Learn the present tense endings for regular verbs, plus the irregular verbs être, avoir, aller, faire, commencer, manger, prendre. Also learn the mon/ma/mes, ton/ta/tes etc - the circles. Basically all the grammar at the back of your hardbacks.
  5. Revise alphabet, numbers, dates, colours, directions and weather vocab for the listening.

Remember,

·Be aware of your own weak and strong points

·Know what works for you to learn vocab

·Ask me if you are confused about anything.
