This report is based on claims paid through the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) through June 2016 for births occurring in calendar year 2015. Provisional data for Wyoming statewide births was supplied by Vital Statistics Services.

In summary:

• 7,715 births to Wyoming residents occurred in 2015 which is an increase of 22 from 2014
• 2,757 Medicaid births occurred in 2015, which is adecrease of 93 births from 2014
• 246 of the Medicaid births were financed at least partially by third party insurance (TPL) in 2015
• 201of the Medicaid births occurred out of state in 2015
• 443 of the Medicaid births occurred to women in coverage groups other than Pregnant Women programs or Emergency Services

This report includes a table to display the number of births by county to non-citizens. These births are covered under the Emergency Services regulation that requires Medicaid to cover labor and delivery charges for non-citizens.
