Worship Ministry Opportunities
At Our Lady of the Lake
There are numerous opportunities to assist and support the celebration of Mass. These are not work obligations, but are privileges to actively serve God. Training will be provided before you begin.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: First Friday of each month in the chapel.
1 hour shift in the chapel between 10 AM and 6:00 PM
Altar Care: Clean and coordinate vestments, linens, do simple mending, and wash items to be laundered. 1-2 hours each week.
Altar Server: Assist priest duringMass.1-2 times per month.Must be in 5th grade or higher, alert, and able to follow simple directions.
Art and Environment: Maintaining floral and green arrangements, set up and take down liturgical decorations. Time commitment varies during the year. About 1-2 hours per month (more during Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter).
Coffee and Donut Volunteer: Help set up, serve, and clean up for the coffee and donut ministry at the Sunday Masses.
Children’s Liturgy of the Word Leader: Instruct a group of students in the chapel for about 20 minutes during Mass. Lessons will center on the readings and Gospel for that day’s Mass. Lesson plans and suggestions will be prepared for you. About once a month. Must be confirmed and attend one session of Protecting God’s Children (18 years or older)
Cross Bearer: Carry the Cross at the beginning and end of Mass. 6th grade to adult. About once per month.
Eucharistic Ministers: To joyfully and respectfully serve the Body and Blood of Christ to your faith family during Mass. Usually 1 weekend per month. Must be confirmed and a member of our Parish.
Gift Bearer: Brings the gifts of bread and wine to the alter during Mass. 1-3 times per year. A great opportunity for families.
Greeters: Welcome our fellow parish members and visitors 20 minutes before the start of mass. 5-8 times per year. Another great family opportunity.
Kid’s Corner Leader: Monitor a small group of infants and toddler’s in the Kid’s
Corner during the 11 AM Mass. Must be 16 or older, and attend one Protecting God’s Children session (18 years or older).
Lector: Lectors proclaim the Word of God during Mass. You should be comfortable speaking in front of the assembly. About once a month. Also consider helping with the Children’s Liturgy of the Word if not scheduled as a lector. Must be confirmed.
Usher: Ushers assist parishioners, help with the collection, and straighten up after Mass. Responsible for parishioner safetyin the event of an emergency. You serve on a team for one month at a time. The number of months will depend on the amount of volunteers. Must be 16 years or older.
