World War II Dinner Party

The objective (goal) of this summative: is to create a visual representation of an arranged dinner party betweenfour World War II leaders (FDR, Churchill, etc.) and/or relevant civilians (Jews, Women workers, Japanese Americans, etc.). You will not be presenting your dinner party, it will be collected. This visual can be created in:

  • a printed PowerPoint
  • a small poster
  • a booklet
  • any other artistic form, as long as it is approved by the teacher

No matter what form you choose from the above, you are required to include:

  • A visual of each person
  • A visual of a dinner table and where the individuals are seated at that table (in order to show the arrangement)
  • A Works Cited paper with any images from the Internet listed
  • A typed Conversation:

Depending on where they are seated, a conversation should include:

  • Goals that each person share for the War or after the war
  • Problems experienced by one to be communicated to the

other

  • Ways to negotiate peace for the war
  • Questions posed to other guests across the table
  • On the back of your visual-write a brief summary of what

may have happened differently in history if your

dinner party occurred.

*Each conversation that takes place should include relevant, specific and realistic statements based on what you learned about WWII. (You will collect MANY sources in class)

**Also where you seat the guests should show the relationship they have with each other (seated right next to each other would be appropriate for allies, across the table or at the other end would show a distant relationship).

***Since this is a summative assessment it is your chance to show what you learned from this unit and details are important!
