Women and Girls Network (WGN) is seeking applicants for an exciting new,cutting edge project:IPAMO House of Healing is a multi-lingual para counselling, advocacy and interpreting training programme for women passionate about supporting women who have experienced gendered violence.

WGN is offering an exceptionalopportunity to multi-lingual women who have a strong desire to develop their skills through a programme of free training in counselling, advocacy and interpreting. WGN have 30 years experience of delivering holistic, specialist services to women who have been or are at risk of experiencing violence. The IPAMO accredited training and placement programme will provide opportunities for women to contribute to the fight to eradicate violence against women and girls (VAWG).It will serve as a gateway to accessing higher and further education and training and through the placement programme it will help to create pathways into future employment within the VAWG sector.

We are seeking female applicants who are…

Passionate about reducing the barriers to support services for Refugee and Black and Minority Ethnic women who have experienced gendered violence

Fluent in English andanother language,preferably: Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, Iranian, South Asian, African and Eastern European languages

Enthusiastic about gaining valuable experience through a placement within an organisation in the Violence Against Women and Girls sector

Self-reflective, compassionate and have an interest in personal development

Interesting in gaining knowledge and skills necessary to sensitively and effectively support women who have experienced gendered violence

Able and committed to attending 20 days of free accredited training between May and November 2017.

*No previous counselling, advocacy, interpreter skills are required to apply.

All training, supervision, and counselling will be provided free of charge to trainees and expenses will be covered for travel costs if applicable. You will be supported by the WGN training team and via one to one counselling and clinical supervision through the duration of the programme.

We are especially interested in hearing from you if you are a woman from aBlack Minority and Ethnic and Refugee community. This is also a great opportunity for counsellors / trainee counsellors who would like to further develop their skills to include advocacy and interpretation in the field of gendered violence.
