Junior Business Development Executive

Our industry knowledge and experience spans over twenty five years and we enjoy long term relationships with our clients. Our Head Office in located in Horsham, West Sussex.

The Role

As a Junior Business Development Executive you will work closely with the Business Development Manager to generate selling opportunities through a high level of outbound prospecting.

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to take their first step to becoming a broker within the energy market and working for a market leading consultancy that offers a clear career path and growth potential.

You will be engaging with senior decision makers within large multinational organisations spending in excess of £100,000 on their energy usage. You will be managing the customer journey from the initial call through to quoting and selling to the customer.

Closing high value deals both over the phone and face to face. Pitching and presenting our recommendations to businesses.

Training & Development

Whilst experience within either the energy industry or working in a telesales environment would be advantageous, it is not essential. We as a business realise people are our most valuable assets and for that reason provide both comprehensive industry and sales training. We will provide on the job training/coaching to help you develop consultative selling techniques to enable you to flourish in the role, as wellas providing training around objection handling and ‘closing’ techniques.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure the proposition remains focused and attractive
  • Identifying and engaging with key decision makers
  • Completing pre-evaluation calls/web research of prospects
  • Completing the minimum number of telephone calls to prospects in accordance with daily target
  • Completing and reviewing daily performance with manager
  • Update CRM System in accordance with sales process
  • Ensure general knowledge of E&CM products and industry is kept up to date
  • Attend external meetings with manager as appropriate
  • Use Power point to present the company perspective in new business meetings
  • Prepare and submit post meeting client proposals
  • Deliver weekly/monthly sales targets

Qualifications and Experience

  • Preferable telesales and/or sales experience experience
  • Must be adept in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Excel, Word and Powerpoint
  • Experience of working with a CRM System to record pipeline and prospect activity
  • Have a business related degree
  • Current clean driving licence and car ownership required for business travel (all mileage costs will be reimbursed)

Benefits Package and hours of work

  • Competitive annual salary and commission mechanism (OTE first year £24,000, second year £32,000, third year £45,000+)
  • Access to the company pension scheme
  • Holiday per annum as defined in your contract of employment
  • Monday to Friday; 9 am to 5 pm
  • The post may require extensive travel within the UK and the occasional nights away from home. Expenses will be paid accordingly in these circumstances.
  • Company car allowance upon successful completion of probation period.
