Are check images available from all types of BMO accounts?

How can I distinguish between the different types of accounts?
A helpful tip to know is that transit numbers beginning with an “8” or “9” are DirectCheque (DCH) accounts. To determine currency, account numbers beginning with a “1” are CAD and account numbers beginning with a “4” are USD.
E.g.: CAD checking account: 31442/1011-555
E.g.: DCH account: 80112/1022-555
If I don’t know the account number, can I search using the account name?
No, the account number is required. Check images are only searchable once the account number has been specified. Accounts will be listed numerically (not alphabetically) in a drop down list with the account name listed beside the account number.
You will be unable to search by client name.
TIP: To avoid unnecessary searches and fees, the more information that you have prior to initiating a search, the better.
For instance, ensure you have obtained your client’s full account number and account name to avoid unnecessary searches. If you cannot obtain the client’s account number, try searching your own records for the correct account number prior to executing a search.
How many items can be returned when an image search is executed?
Up to 300 items can be returned per search on a specific account; from this sortable list, you can select up to 20 cheques to retrieve at once.
How many days in the past can I search for these items?
Check images are accessible for up to 100 calendar days preceding the current date; after that point, you can contact the BMO Client Service Team to trace an item.
