ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING MINUTES

HELD ON28.11.16 AT KNIGHTS GRANGE PUBLIC HOUSE

PRESENT

Chris Mayoh, Alex Lerczak, Chris Knight, Simon Nuttall, Stephen McCormack, Steve Abbiss, Mark Abbiss, Gary Foster, Jackie Penn, Tracy Morley, Steve Harris.

CHAIRMAN’S REPORT (CHRIS MAYOH)

  • Chairman thanked everyone for their attendance.
  • Reported on a very successful on court season – league wins in both Summer & Winter leagues, 9 trophies.

TREASURER’S REPORT (STEPHEN MCCORMACK)

  • Approximately £4,700 in the bank.
  • Includes £800 from the Town Council – need to spend this & report to Council.
  • No rent paid in 2016.

SECRETARY’S REPORT

  • LTA insurance due – decision to apply for 2 courts insurance, 4 when confirmation from CWACs.

CLUB DEVELOPMENT & FUNDRAISING REPORT (CHRIS KNIGHT)

  • Application to LTA for £80k – waiting for response.
  • Grass to hard courts = although could be an attraction if grass kept – maintenance costs?
  • Pavilion extension – toilet, shower, kitchen
  • WREN – application deadline mid February 2017.
  • Resurfacing main courts
  • Cabling for floodlights
  • Water, sewage systems.
  • Aiming to run all 6 courts
  • Grass should be ready for Summer 2017.
  • Council to renew fencing
  • Middle courts – recently resprayed, playing well.
  • Club to run & make available to public - Pay & Play basis.

2017/18 MEMBERSHIP FEES (CHRIS MAYOH)

  • Increased fees needed to fund development of club & build up a sink fund for future works.
  • Much debate, felt important to stay cheaper then other local clubs.
  • Following fees agreed by vote:

JUNIOR SECTION (CHRIS MAYOH)

  • Wednesday evenings very successful.
  • Sunday afternoons not well attended.
  • Agreed fee of £2 per junior, free if member.

COACHES (ALEX LERZCAK)

  • Club looking for current members to become Grade 1 or 2 qualified coaches.
  • Club may help with cost (£300 for grades 1 and 2).
  • Alex, Jackie & Chris Knight volunteered.

  • Could be cheaper to do ourselves if equipment available.

  • System needed to accept bookings & take payment.
  • Club Spark via LTA to be considered.
