Pets at CapeHowe Cottages

We have a few simple requests when you bring your dog to stay with you at Cape Howe Cottages. Your compliance will ensure that we can continue to offer this special facility to you and our future guests.

We allow a maximum of 2 dogs at any one time only at The Snug only. Dogs are not permitted in or within close proximity of any other cottage.

Dog owners agree to take full responsibility for any personal injury or damage caused by their dog whilst in the confines of our property and agree to pay for any claims of compensation in relation to the dog’s activities.

A $20 tariff is payable per dog per total length of stay. This is to allow for general cleaning and maintenance. However, we reserve the right to charge an additional cleaning fee if found necessary. An inspection may be carried out prior to your departure.

Pets are generally not allowed inside the cottages. We appreciate in times of bad weather or with elderly dogs it may be necessary to have your dog inside – we ask that in these cases you restrict it to the tiled bathroom/laundry area only and definitely not in the bedrooms, on the furniture or rugs. There are plenty of covered areas outside for the comfort of your pet.

Your dog should not be left alone at the cottage during your stay. Dogs often get distressed in a strange environment and we are concerned that their barking will upset other guests, our own animals, neighbours, and the peaceful setting. If you want a dog free day, you can day board your dog at Denmark Vets (ph: 9848 1389) or Rainbow Coast Kennels - Albany (ph: 9841 3664) – bookings & vaccination certificates essential.

Food & water bowls are also provided for your convenience.

The Snug cottage is set within it’s own half acre of fully fenced grounds, with lawn and garden beds. Dogs can run freely around this area, however, please keep your dog on a leash if you are walking around the rest of the property– we are committed to providing a safe environment for the many native animals and birds with our Land for Wildlife accreditation.

There are many dog friendly beaches in the region. Lowlands Beach (1.5 kms from the cottages) and the Eastern end of CosyCornerBeach are the closest. LowlandsBeach has a fresh water creek running down from the hills and across the beach all year around. Please note that dogs are not permitted in National Parks or on the Bibbulmun Track.

A poop scoop is provided and we would appreciate you disposing of any dog faeces properly.

Most of all, enjoy your stay

with your “best friend”.
