Letter to candidates

Dear Colleague,

Thank you for your interest in our vacancy as a Teacher. My name is Jacqui Johnson and I’m the Head at Ashby Fields Primary School and I would like to take this opportunity to introduce ourschool to you.

We are a happy and vibrant community school situated on the outskirts of Daventry. Our reputation for valuing, caring for and attending to the needs of each child is justly deserved and a real strength of the school.

We are far more than just a two form entry Primary School. We run a successful wrap around care facility, providing provision for breakfast club and after school care both of which are based at our school and managed by staff children are familiar with and hugely popular.

Ofsted inspected Ashby Fields Primary School in April 2015 and we were judged to be ‘good’, remarking that ‘Leaders, including governors, have successfully improved teaching since the last inspection……as a result, pupils are making good progress in reading, writing and mathematics and their attainment is rising rapidly.’

Our team are extremely talented and wholly committed to making a difference. We are looking for an exceptional and inspirational Teacher to join us and contribute to the journey of rapid school improvement.

Our children enjoy coming to school and are very excited about learning. They feel trusted and respected and they know that there is always someone who will listen to them. School is a safe, warm and caring place where children can thrive and succeed.

Our team are passionate about making a difference and strongly believe that all children should have equal opportunities to achieve well and become the best they can be. To this end, we promote the highest possible expectations of our children and each other in all aspects of school life.

We know that our staff are our most valuable resource and invest heavily in ensuring that everyone has the skills they need both to fulfil their current role and to prepare them for future aspirations. We will ensure that you have all the support and training you need to be effective in post.

I hope this application pack encourages you to make an application. If you have any questions about the position or the school, please do not hesitate to contact me. I think visits are very helpful if you are trying to make up your mind about whether to apply for a school and would encourage you to come and visit us to find out what makes Ashby Fields Primary School such a special and exciting place to work. Ashby Fields Primary School is a two-form entry community primary school and serves the community of Ashby Fields, Lang Farm and Middlemore. The school was built in 1999 to serve new housing developments to the north of Daventry, and was extended in 2001 and 2005 to its current capacity of 420. The land was once farmland, and the area still retains its country atmosphere, being so close to Daventry Country Park.
