Willy Wonka is in the process of expanding his candy factory. He wants to add on an additional room to the factory and include life-size candy pieces. He needs you to make all of his candy creations into life-size delights! It is up to you to design the layout the factory addition using the steps listed below.

STEP 1- Choose your candy.

Willy Wonka definitely wants to include the Starburst, the Peach Ring and the Gum in his factory, but wants you to decide the last piece of candy to include. Your options are: Sweet Tarts, Nerds, Smarties, or Laffy Taffy. Record your choice in the table on the next page.

STEP 2- Measure your candy in inches (4 points).

Record your measurements in the table on the next page.

Round your answers to the nearest ¼ of an inch.

STEP 3- Use given scale factor to get the candy life-size measurements (4 points).

STEP 5- Design the factory room for Willy Wonka! (8 points)

You need to submit the plans for the room to Willy Wonka. The factory is 40 feet in length and 25 feet wide. All four of your life-size candies need to be placed in the room. You will need to use ¼ in. graph paper to draw up your scale drawing. Use this scale: ¼ inch = 1 foot.

·  Be sure to use a straight edge for your drawing, include a title for Mr. Wonka, and enhance your scale drawing with some color!
