J. J. Alexander, age 36, enlisted in Co K, 56 NC Inf in Mecklenburg Co, NC on 4-5-1863. He was killed at Fort Stedman, Petersburg, VA on 3-25-1865.

R. A. Barnes, Davie Co, NC enlisted in Co E, 42 NC on 4/10/1863 in Hamilton. He died of cholera in Petersburg, VA hospital on 9/16/1864.

R. W. Bates, Co K, 10 NC Inf. was captured 4-3-65 and died 7-10-65 in Petersburg VA hospital.

Thomas F. Boyd 27-year-old farmer from Iredell Co, NC enlisted in Co H, 57th NC Inf on 7/4/1862 in Cabarrus Co, NC. He was wounded 12/13/1862 at Fredericksburg and wounded again in right shoulder at Winchester, VA on 7/20/1864. Hospitalized in Petersburg, VA on 1/22/1865, he died on 2/10/1865. He was born in Franklin Hill.

Thomas L. C. Bradley enlisted in Co K, 22 NC Inf on 2/20/1864 at Orange Court House, Va. Wounded in the right leg (amputation) at Reams Station, VA 8/25/1864, he died on 9/1/1864 in Petersburg.

Isaac Bright, 37 year old farmer, enlisted in Co D, 35 NC Inf in Chatham County on 10/17/1861. He died of wounds in a Petersburg, VA hospital on 9/26/1864.

Matthew J. Campbell enlisted in Co G, 24 NC Inf at age 32 on 9/7/1863 in Northampton, Co, NC. He was killed 8/21/1864 at Globe Tavern, VA.

Abner Cheek enlisted in Co I, 61 NC Infantry at age 21 on 5/3/1862 in Alleghany Co, NC. He was wounded in the left lung and died in a Petersburg, VA hospital on 7/31/1864. He was born in Ashe Co, NC.

James S. Colbert enlisted in Co G, 25 NC Inf at age 22 on 7/8/1861 in Macon Co, NC.

David A. Clements, age 26, from Orange Co, NC enlisted in Co E, 56 NC Inf on 7-18-1862 in Wake County. He was captured 5-22-2863 at Gum Swamp, NC & imprisoned at New Bern until paroled at City Point, VA on 5-28-63. He was killed 7-14-1864.

William E. Coley, age 19, from Granville Co, NC enlisted 7-15-1862 in Wake County in Co H, 56 NC Inf. Promoted to Corporal on 7-20-1864 he died on 8/23/1864 at Petersburg, VA of wounds suffered 8/21/1864 at Globe Tavern, Va.

George W. Conley, 18 year old farmer, enlisted in Co B, 35 NC Inf on 10/5/1861 in McDowell Co, NC. He died in a Petersburg, VA hospital from a gunshot wound in the shoulder on 7/6/1864.

Rufus P. Daniel, 30 year old Nash Co, NC farmer enlisted in Co D, 47 NC Inf on 5/14/1862 in Wilson Co, NC. Promoted Sergeant on 7/10/1863, he was captured at Falling Waters, MD on 7/14/1863. and imprisoned at Point Lookout, MD until exchanged at City Point, VA on 3/6/1864. He was killed 8/12/1864 at Petersburg, VA.

William L. Canfield, Davie County, NC enlisted in Co F, 42 NC Inf on 11/17/1862 at Petersburg, VA. He suffered a gunshot wound on 5/20/2864 and died in a Petersburg, VA hospital on 9/9/1864.

T. L. Davis transferred from Co G, 18th SC Inf on 1/15/1864 to Co H, 49 NC Inf. He was killed on 7/21/1864 at Petersburg, VA.

John P. Dewar, a 17 year old Harnett Co, NC farmer enlisted as a Corporal in Co I, 31 NC Inf on 10/31/1861. He was captured at Roanoke Island, NC, 2/8/1862 and paroled at Elizabeth City, NC on 2/21/1862. Promoted Sergeant on 2/11/1863, he was killed 6-30-1864 at Petersburg, VA.

Simeon K. Eskridge, a 43 year old Cleveland Co, NC farmer enlisted in Co F, 56 NC Inf on 9/20/1863. he died of gangrene on 8/1/1864 at Petersburg, VA.

Edward S. Garrett, 21-year old Richmond Co, NC planter, enlisted at Richmond, VA on 12/31/1861 as a Corporal in Co E. 38 NC Inf. Born in Richmond, VA, he was wounded 7/1/1862 at Malvern Hill and again at Reams Station on 8/25/1864. He died 9/8/1864 in a Petersburg, VA hospital. Garret was promoted to Sergeant on 3/31/1863.

George W. Hackney, enlisted at age 20 in Wake County, NC in Co C, 56 NC Inf. He died of wounds in a Petersburg, VA hospital on 7/27/1864.

James M. Henderson enlisted at age 25 in Co F, 25 NC Inf in Haywood Co, NC. He died 8/21/1864 in a Petersburg, VA hospital of a wound in the left lung suffered at Globe Tavern.

S. H. Howell enlisted on 5/5/1862 in Cleveland Co, NC in Co G, 49 NC Inf. He died 4/9/1865 in a Petersburg, VA hospital of wounds suffered at Fort Stedman.

William R. Hutchins 35 years old from Stokes Co, NC enlisted 4/4/1863 at Camp Holmes, Raleigh, NC in Co D, 24th NC Inf. He was killed “in the trenches” 7/28/1864 at Petersburg, VA.

W. B. Lancaster 18 years old from Nash Co, NC enlisted 12/13/1861 in Franklin Co, NC in Co B, 13th Bn NC Art. He transferred on 10/2/1863 to Co B, 66 NC Inf. He was severely wounded in the right jaw and captured 6/18/1864 at Petersburg, VA.

R. W. Leonard enlisted 10/1/1863 in Davidson Co, NC in Co A, 21 NC Inf. He died 4/26/1865 of wounds suffered at For Stedman.

Andrew J. Lynch 28 year old from Rowan Co, NC enlisted 3/19/1862 in Co G, 42 NC Inf. He died of disease in a Petersburg, VA hospital on 7/13/1864.

James F. Maker, Pitt Co, NC enlisted 6/1/1861 in Co H, 27th NC Inf. He was promoted to 1st Sergt on 9/26/1861, 3rd Lt on 2/3/1862, 1st Lt on 4/22/1862, and Capt on 11/25/1863. He was killed on 8/21/1864 at Globe Tavern.

William A. May 20 year old Iredell Co, NC farmer enlisted in Mecklenburg Co, NC in Co A, 7 NC Inf on 5/29/2861. He was wounded in the elbow 5/3/1863 at Chancellorsville, wounded again in a railroad accident, and died in a Petersburg, VA hospital on 10/36/1864. He was born in Davie Co, NC.

Joseph P, McCracken 20 year old from Haywood Co, NC enlisted 5/31/1861 in Co C, 25 NC Inf. He was wounded in the shoulder at Fredericksburg on 12/13/1862, Hospitalized in Petersburg with a gunshot wound to the leg, he died 5/13/1864.

William J. Monroe 20 year old from Moore Co, NC enlisted 4/1/1863 in Co D, 49 NC Inf. He was killed 8/4/1864 at Petersburg, VA.

Thomas F. Montague 27 year old from Orange Co, NC enlisted 7/15/1862 in Wake Co, NC in Co H, 56 NC Inf.

He was wounded at Drewry’s Bluff on 5/16/1864 and again at Petersburg where he died 6/20/1864.

Portius Aurelius Moore 24 year old from Person Co, NC enlisted as Sergeant in Co A, 24 NC Inf on 5/5/1861. Promoted to 2nd Lt 3/17/1862 and 1st Lt on 4/15/1863, he was killed 6/24/1864 near Petersburg, VA.

A. F. Neal enlisted Wake Co, NC on 4/1/1864 in Co H, 1 NC Cav. He died 4/25/1865; a Prisoner in a Petersburg hospital of a gunshot wound in a knee.

Lewis Powell, a 24 year old Martin Co, NC farmer enlisted 4/3/1862 at Edgecombe Co, NC in Co B, 44 NC Inf. Wounded and captured at Petersburg, VA on 4/2/1865, he was imprisoned at Point Lookout, MD where he took the Oath of Allegiance on 6/29/1865. He died on 7/18/1865 in a Petersburg, VA hospital.

Lawson Lafayette Rankin a 19 year-old Rankin Co, NC farmer enlisted 4/21/1862 in Co H, 49 NC Inf. He was promoted to Sergt on 1/1/1863, 3rd Lt on 7/6/1864 and 2nd Lt on 8/15/1864. He was wounded at Malvern Hill on 7/1/1862 and again at Fort Stedman on 3/25/1865 and died 3/31/1865 in a Petersburg, VA hospital from amputation of his left leg.

William D. Regan a 22 year-old Robeson Co, NC farmer enlisted 6/4/1861 in Co G, 24 NC Inf. Promoted to Corporal 1/21/1863, he was killed on 6/21/1864 at Globe Tavern.

John T. Revels enlisted 7/17/1862 in Co K, 57 NC Inf. He died of fever in a Petersburg, VA hospital on 3/1/1865.

James L. Roberts 21 year-old Mecklenburg Co, NC farmer enlisted 9/3/1861 in Co H, 35 NC Inf. He died of wounds on 10/26/1864 at Petersburg, VA.

A. L. Sifford enlisted Wake Co, NC 9/25/1863 in Co K, 16 NC Inf. Wounded 5/3/1863 at Chancellorsville he was promoted to Corporal 11/1/1863 and Sergt 1/1/1864. Killed 6/22/1864 near Petersburg, VA.

John Stark Sims 38 years old from Henderson Co, NC enlisted 6/7/1863 at Drewry’s Bluff, VA in Co A, 25 NC Inf. Born in Chester District, SC, he died on 3/16/1865 in a Petersburg, VA hospital.

Evans Smith enlisted 3/18/1864 at Wake Co, NC in Co K, 6 NC Infantry. He died of pneumonia at Petersburg, VA 4/17/1865.

William Henry Thompson 22 year-old Rowan Co, NC farmer, enlisted 4/21/1862 in Co C, 49 NC Inf. Wounded 5/16/1864 at Drewry’s Bluff, he died 8/21/1864 of wounds suffered at Globe Tavern.

James H. Turner, 30 years old from Rowan Co, NC enlisted 3/27/1862 in Co A, 26 NC Inf. He was captured and suffered a gunshot wound to the spine at Gettysburg on 7/1/1863 and confined at David’s Island, NY. Paroled, he was again captured at Petersburg, VA on 4/3/1865 and died of wounds, on 5/25/1865.

John M. Turner a 29 year-old farmer from Cleveland Co, NC enlisted 10/25/1861 in Co F, 34 NC Inf. Promoted to Corporal, he died of wounds on 5/29/1864 at Petersburg, VA.

Seth E. White enlisted 11/7/1862 in Co C, 56 NC Inf. He was killed 7/30/1864 at Petersburg, VA. He also served in Co B, 17 NC Inf.

Allen Wilkerson 36 years old from Granville, Co, NC, enlisted 6/2/1862 in Co E, 46 NC Inf. Wounded 5/5/1864 at The Wilderness, he died of chronic diarrhea on 1/24/1865 at Petersburg, VA.

Martin Wilkins 27 years old enlisted 9/4/1862 at Wake Co, NC in Co A, 1st Bn NC Sharpshooters. Born in Yadkin County, NC he died of disease in a Liberty, VA hospital on 1/19/1865.

Thomas A. Williams 27 year-old Onslow Co, NC farmer, enlisted as a Corporal on 9/6/1861 in Co A, 35th NC Inf. Promoted to Sergt. No further record.

Lemuel K. Woodward enlisted 12/20/1862 in Co C, 12 Bn NC Cav. He was captured at Jackson, NC on 7/27/1863 and paroled. He also served in Co K, 57th NC Inf, Co G, 27 NC Inf, Co A, 12 Bn NC Cav, and Co K, 4 NC Cav. He was assigned to Co K, 24 NC Inf when he died on 2-9-1865 near Petersburg.

Andrew L. Yates, a 25 year-old Randolph Co, NC carpenter, enlisted in Wake Co, NC on 11/7/1862, Co B, 52 NC Inf. Wounded and captured at Gettysburg on 7/1/1863 he was exchanged 8/28/1863 at City Point, VA. He died 2/9/1865 near Petersburg, VA.
