·  Scholarships must be used by December 31, 2018.

·  Scholarships cover only flight time unless otherwise specified in the scholarship’s description. Scholarship winners are responsible for their own transportation to and from training; meals & accommodations; ground school; and any other materials and expenses.

·  Winners must sign a Letter of Agreement and abide by scholarship rules, or the scholarship may be forfeited.

·  In the event that an applicant does not qualify for a particular scholarship, the Whirly-Girls Scholarship Committee reserves the right to not award that scholarship. An applicant is only qualified when she meets the minimum requirements for the scholarship for which she is applying.

·  Applications missing items are considered incomplete and will be rejected, and your application fee will not be refunded.

·  Estimated Training Cost (separate document). Required only for certain scholarships.

·  Essays (separate document). One required for each scholarship for which you are applying.

·  Pilot and/or Instructor Certificate(s). A legible image of both front and back sides.

·  Medical Certificate - Current. A legible image.

·  Recommendation Letters. Three typed, signed letters from individuals such as employers, friends, flight instructors, or Whirly-Girls who can attest to your experience, qualifications, work history, work ethic, and/or financial need. These documents can be emailed or mailed. These letters are a critical part of your scholarship application. Please submit only three letters.

·  Remittance. Cost is $50 USD non-refundable and payment may be made by credit card, personal check, or through PayPal on the website.

·  If you are selected for a scholarship, you will be asked to provide a professional picture.

STATEMENT OF UNDERSTANDING

●  Winners must provide the Scholarship Director a plan by no later than July 31, 2018, to use the scholarship prior to December 31, 2018. If a plan is not received by July 31, 2018, then the scholarship will be given to the next qualified applicant. Scholarship training must be started by December 31, 2018.

●  Winners must sign a contract saying she will abide by all scholarship rules.

●  Winners will write an article for the Collective Pitch newsletter in the scholarship year of their selection and volunteer at least 5 hours to the organization.

●  By entering my name on this line, I understand that if training is not completed within this allotted time, the scholarship winner agrees to repay all used funds to the Whirly-Girls Scholarship Fund.
