FEAR NOT 40
One of my greatest concerns is that my children, grandchildren, and friends will become fearful as nations fulfill their prophetic roles in human HIStory. Apparently, this is a passion of God our Father, as He repeatedly addresses this topic throughout the Bible.
Here, we’ve listed some of His most comforting Words. Consider writing or printing these out on pretty papers and posting them throughout your house of prayer. Tuck them into your children’s backpacks or lunches, hiding them in their hearts.
Although some verses, in context, were spoken to specific individuals or nations, the many messages by Godto His children expose His heart toward us, making it clear that this same Love and Power and Comfort are available to us in this hour.
When I am afraid, I will put my trust in You.
In God, whose word I praise,
in God I have put my trust;
I shall not be afraid.
What can mere man do to me?

God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear,
even though the earth be removed,
and though the mountains be carried
into the midst of the sea;
Though its waters roar and be troubled,
though the mountains shake with its swelling.

Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body;
they cannot touch your soul.
Fear only God,
who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
What is the price of two sparrows—one copper coin?
But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground

And the very hairs on your head are all numbered.
So don’t be afraid;
you are more valuable to God
than a whole flock of sparrows.

This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid,
grave-tending life. It’s adventurously expectant,
greeting God with a childlike “What’s next, Papa?”
God’s Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who he is, and we know who we are: Father and children. And we know we are going to get what’s coming to us—
an unbelievable inheritance!
We go through exactly what Christ goes through.
If we go through the hard times with him,
then we’re certainly going to go through the good times with him!
Romans 8:15-17 The Message

For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
and His ears are open to their prayers;
But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.
And who is he who will harm you if
you become followers of what is good?
But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake,
you are blessed.
And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts,
and always be ready to give a defense to everyone
who asks you
a reason for the hope that is in you,
with meekness and fear;
having a good conscience,
that when they defame you as evildoers,
those who revile your good conduct in Christ
may be ashamed.
For it is better, if it is the will of God,
to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.
For Christ also suffered once for sins,
the just for the unjust,
that He might bring us to God…
1 Peter 3:12-18 NKJV

Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear;
though war break out against me,
even then I will be confident.
One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty of the Lord
and to seek him in his temple.
For in the day of trouble
he will keep me safe in his dwelling;
he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent
and set me high upon a rock.
Psalm 27:3-5 NIV

You don't need to fight this battle.
Just take your places, stand ready, and watch

Therefore humble yourselves
[demote, lower yourselves in your own estimation]
under the mighty hand of God, that in due time
He may exalt you,
casting the whole of your care
[all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns,
once and for all]
on Him, for He cares for you affectionately
and cares about you watchfully.
Be well balanced[temperate, sober of mind],
be vigilant and cautious at all times;
for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around
like a lion roaring[in fierce hunger],
seeking someone to seize upon and devour.
Withstand him; be firm in faith
[against his onset—rooted, established,
strong, immovable, and determined],
knowing that the same[identical]sufferings
are appointed to your brotherhood
[the whole body of Christians]
throughout the world.
And after you have suffered a little while,
the God of all grace[Who imparts all blessing and favor],
Who has called you to His[own]eternal glory
in Christ Jesus,
will Himself complete and make you
what you ought to be,
establish and ground you securely,
and strengthen, and settle you.
To Him be the dominion[power, authority, rule]
forever and ever. Amen[so be it].”

Even if the fig tree does not blossom
and there are no grapes on the vines,
If the olive trees fail to give fruit
and the fields produce no food,
If the flocks die far from the fold
and there are no cattle in the stalls;
Then I will still rejoice in the Eternal!
I will rejoice in the God who saves me!
The Eternal Lord is my strength!
He has made my feet like the feet of a deer;
He allows me to walk on high places.

“So do not fear, for I am with you:
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."
Isaiah 41:10 NIV
Our Father quickly repeats this encouragement,
“For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand,
Saying to you, 'Fear not, I will help you.'”
Isaiah 41:13 NIV
This was written in a desperate time as Isaiah warned Judah and Jerusalem to repent; the nation was facing Judgment. It was delivered through a man who, according to Jewish tradition, would be sawn in two by order of King Manasseh. Now grab your Bible and enjoy it in context, backing up to at least the beginning of Isaiah 40.
