Monday, February 9th: Al-Kahf 28

And keep yourself patient [by being] with those who call upon their Lord in the morning and the evening, seeking His countenance. And let not your eyes pass beyond them, desiring adornments of the worldly life , and do not obey one whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance and who follows his desire and whose affair is ever [in] neglect.

This Ayah is instructing Prophet Muhammad (s) about who he should be hanging out with. What are different reasons people make friends and what advice does this Ayah give about choosing close friends?

Wednesday, February 11th: al-Baqarah 238

Maintain with care the [obligatory] prayers and [in particular] the middle prayer and stand before Allah , devoutly obedient.

What is Allah telling us to take care of in this Ayah? Why do you think He tells us to pay extra extension to the middle prayer? Which prayer is that?

Friday, February 13th: al-Baqarah 255

Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.

We read Ayat al-Kursi after Salah every day. The Prophet (s) told us that this is the greatest Ayah in the whole Qur’an. Think about the meaning of this Ayah. What great things do you see in this Ayah?
