Guidance notes and application form 2018
What are the benefits of being a “Systemic Practitioner Member”?
Recognition of the training you have undertaken to date and support with ongoing CPD and practice. As a “systemic practitioner member” it is important that you work within your area of competence and that you keep your skills up to date and receive supervision from a registered family and systemic psychotherapist. Employers need to recognize the importance of supporting your practice and this is a clear statement of what is needed.
You will have all the benefits of membership of an association dedicated to working systemically with families – the Journal of Family Therapy, Context, special rates at conferences, discounts off publications, job adverts, and in addition we will aim to support training events for systemic practitioners and networking opportunities. Systemic practitioner membership costs no more than being a “member” of AFT.
For those who continue to train to becomeUKCP registered Systemic Psychotherapists, if you have been a “systemic practitioner member” since completing your intermediate level training, you will not be required to pay the application fee to transfer to “registered member” status (saving £100). The process for UKCP registration will be simpler and quicker, given that you are already known to us.
