VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Our church is responsible for helping with BINGO at Sibley Specialty Care on Fridays during the month of August at 2:00 p.m. We will need 3 volunteers for each Friday. Please sign up on the sign-up sheet on the mailbox ledge to indicate which Friday you can help. Thank you!

Volunteers are needed to assist the Osceola Ministerial Association with theirBack To School With a Smile Program, where school supplies are distributed in conjunction with Sibley-Ocheyedan School Registration. Volunteers assist familiesin selecting their needed school supplies so that returning to school will be with a smile and not be a financial hardship. The event is held at First Reformed Church of Sibley. This opportunity to show Christ’s love to the families of our community will beWednesday, Aug.2, from10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.andThursday, Aug. 3, from8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Contact Annette Janssen at 754-4174 to volunteer.

Come Camp Out and get s’more out of Jesus! Sibley United Methodist Church (700 11th Ave. NE) will be holding their summer VBS on Friday, August 4 from 5-9pm, and Saturday, August 5 from 10am-3pm (Please note: this is not an overnight event). All children ages 3-years-old through 6th grade (completed in May) are welcome and encouraged to attend these two adventurous days and learn that Jesus is the light ( John 8:12).

ADVANCE ANNOUNCEMENTS

100th Anniversary WW1 Exhibit and August Sunday Speakers at the McCallum Museum: Come to the museum in August to see the World War 1 Exhibit and hear the following presentations: August 6 "Over There!" Beginnings of WW1, August 13 "Through the Lens" Sibley in 1917-18, August 20 "Over there and back home",End of the war. Presentation from 2-3:00pm. Presenters will be Jan Stofferan and Donna Houtsma. The museum is open every Sunday from 1:30-4:30pm.

The 26th annual Western Christian Booster Club golf tournament will be held on Friday, August 11, at noon at the Ridge Golf Course in Sioux Center. The cost to golf is $90 per person and that includes 18 holes of golf, cart, supper, and the chance to win prizes. Mulligans will also be sold at registration. Justice for All will be hosting our first Foundation Event on August 18th at Calico Skies Winery. The doors will open at 5:30pm with a catered meal starting at 6pm. Entertainment will be provided by Nick Engbers. This event is for those who are a part of our Foundation or would like to become a part of it.
