Welcome to Business Computer Technology!

Mr. Chaney

QuailHollowMiddle School

Welcome

I would like to welcome you to Business Computer Technology (BCT). Let me share some information about this course with you. This is a semester long course. In this course, students begin preparing for the Computer Skills Test that they must take and pass during their eighth grade year. This test is vital due to graduation requirements and mandates that in order to receive a NC high school diploma, students must pass the Computer Skills Test. The overall goal of this curriculum and the Computer Skills Test is students will become independent users of technology for school and personal needs.

Computers and technology have become tools of choice and information has become a valuable resource in all aspects of life. The use of technology will allow students to think more critically, communicate more creatively, and solve problems more analytically. Computer technology will continue to have a significant impact on the world in which we live. With all of us working together; parents, students, and teachers, each child at Quail Hollow Middle will become proficient computer users.

I look forward to working with you throughout this course. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.
