Spring is definitely near, although somebody needs to tell the temperature to warm up just a bit! Although we have just a couple of weeks of school before spring break, it is a busy time. Please read on:

Assessment Packets:

Inside your child’s Monday Folder today is their assessment packet and your conference time if requested. You may find it helpful use it as a guide should you have questions about your child’s progress. Please do not hesitate to call and/or email if you have any concerns or questions.

Conferences: Unlike the Fall, Spring Conferences are scheduled only as needed, and/or as a follow up from a previous conversations. Note: Students do not need to attend this conference, and not all students will conference during this time. If you were not scheduled but would like to do so, please contact your child’s teacher.

Second Grade Learning: In anticipation of our upcoming field trip, your child will be researching and publishing their own book on Whales. Using technology and resource booksin class, they will choose three topics to write about. Their book will include the features of a non-fiction text, including a table of contents, diagrams, bibliography, and an About the Author page. You are invited to celebrate their published book at our Author’s Celebration March 31st from 9:00-10:00. Your child’s invitation was sent home last week, but if you have any questions, please let us know.
