Thiscourseemphasizesfurtherdevelopmentofmathematicalknowledgeandskillstopreparestudentsforsuccessintheireveryday lives,intheworkplace,andintheGrade10LDCCcourse.Thecourseisorganizedinthreestrandsrelatedtomoneysense, measurement,andproportionalreasoning.Inallstrands,thefocusisondevelopingandconsolidatingkeyfoundationalmathematical conceptsandskillsbysolvingauthentic,everydayproblems.Studentshaveopportunitiestofurtherdeveloptheirmathematical literacyandproblem-solvingskillsandtocontinuedevelopingtheirskillsinreading,writing,andorallanguagethroughrelevantand practicalmathactivities.

FinalMarkCalculation
CalculationoftheTermMarkwillbebasedupontheCategoriesoftheAchievementChart.Thischartismeanttoassistteachersin planninginstructionandlearningactivitiesfortheachievementofthecurriculumexpectations. Itisalsousedindesigningassessment andevaluationtoolsandinprovidingfeedbacktostudents. Eachmathematicaltopicwillcontaineachcategoryinthechartduetothe integratednatureofthedisciplineinmathematics.Finalmarkswillbecalculatedasfollows:
