Media CityUK:

– MediaCityUK is a long-term development for the creative and digital industries situated on a huge waterfront site at Salford Quays, just a few minutes from central Manchester. Peel Media is working in partnership with Salford City Council, Central Salford Urban Regeneration Company, the Northwest Regional Development Agency and Northwest Vision and Media. The BBC will move around 2,500 staff to MediaCityUK from 2011 onwards. They will be joined by The BBC Philharmonic and the University of Salford have committed to a new higher education centre at MediaCityUK, which will accommodate more than 700 students and staff.

Arts Development Agencies and Networks:

Arts Council England is the national development agency for the arts;they support a range of artistic activities from theatre to music, literature to dance, photography to digital art and carnival to crafts.

– This site provides information for those interested in local arts in Britain and is also a professional development resource for nalgao members. The public area of the site carries news, a number of sample case studies and some resource material.

and Promoting the Arts. The National Campaign for the Arts is the UK’s only independent organisation campaigning for all the arts.

– If you valuethe arts in your community, you need to make your voice heard. Support ‘I Value The Arts’, a campaign to give the public a chance to voice their views on support for the arts.

International Arts:

– Provide information and intelligence to help people engage in intercultural activity, create opportunities for artists and cultural professionals to explore new connections, expand the skills and knowledge of artists and cultural players.

– ENYAN is a membership body designed to create connections throughout the diverse youth arts sector at national, regional and grass roots levels. ENYAN aims to raise the profile and support for youth arts within England and by doing so create more opportunities for the creative and personal development of young people, especially young people at risk.

– National Youth Music Charity

– Mediabox enables young people to create media projects and get their voices heard. It has given disadvantaged 13-19 year olds, and up to 25 if they have learning difficulties or disabilities, living in England the opportunity to create media projects about issues that matter to them, from film and journalism to digital media and campaigns.

- NOISE is not your typical arts festival. It has no physical location; the central hub of activity takes place on the NOISE website and across the media – print, television, radio and online – making it the first ‘virtual’ festival of its kind in Europe.

NOISE exhibits the very best in creative talent from people 30 and under – any creative work that can be presented digitally (on screen or on air) including across fashion, film, music, design, architecture, written word, graphic design, fine art and illustration.
