Tic-Tac-Toe Homework

Directions: Complete three activities this week. Each activity should take 10-15 minutes. Write the date you completed it in the box. Bring your work to school on Friday. By the end of the week you should have completed three activities in a row for tic-tac-toe.

Practice your typing skills. Go to Mrs. B’s website and choose a typing game. Spend at least 10 minutes practicing. Write the name of the game. ______/ Make spelling word pyramids. Write all of your words pyramid style.

spell / Write sentences using all of the vocabulary words. You may write one sentence for each word or use more than one word in each sentence.
After your nightly reading, choose a word that is unfamiliar to you and make a vocabulary poster for it. Include a definition, synonym, sentence, and picture. / Make a cause and effect chart describing events from the reading you did tonight. Use the graphic organizer on the back of this page. / Think about long i while you read. List any words with long i that you find. Then sort the words according to their spelling patterns (i, ie, igh).
Find a short article about sports in a magazine, newspaper, or get one from the internet. Read the article, and then summarize it in two or three sentences / Choose a passage from your nightly reading that describes the setting. Draw a detailed picture to illustrate the place where your story happens. Write a caption for your drawing. / Think about nouns as you read. Make a list of 12 nouns from your reading. Circle the plural nouns (ending with s or es).
