Hello All, I'm doing some research on available central software' looking for the latest and greatest or easily expanded to allow the operators and authorized users to implement efficient signal timing plans and traffic and incident management strategies through remote control of signal controllers and ITS components to better serve all modes of transportation network. Ability to enhance coordination, integration and information exchange between the central TMC and partnering agencies that will enable improved traffic operations and emergency management, and support regional/state data collection and archiving. Ability to exchange incident information with partnering transportation agencies and disseminate real-time traveler information to the public. Also, any that are being used for CCTV control, video wall control, RWIS, HAR, etc...etc..... any details you wish to share would be appreciated...... 1.What Central Software do you use? 2.May we contact you for more information? a)If yes, please provide your email address Thanks in advance Ray V. Ray,

MoDOT St. Louis is transitioning from Delcan'siNet to Transcore'sTranSuite ATMS software for freeway and arterial ITS device management. Also, MoDOT St. Louis uses Eagle/Siemens ACTRA system. We are transitioning to their newer TACTICS product.

Hope this helps.

Hello Michigan DOT is switching to Delcan software. We are still going through the integration period with the new software. The software does have a signal module but Michigan did not purchase it. If you need more information on our ATMS the project manger is Lee Nederveld, 517-335-5317 or Angie Kremer

Raymond,

We use the EconoliteCentracs System on 170E and 2070L controllers. The system contains about 400 signals with 18 Lane Use Controllers. We are looking at an ability to add BlueTooth Travel Times in a developing module for the system.

Even though we have about 80 miles of fiber (locally owned and maintained), we are still communicating via serial data rather than Ethernet. The controllers are operating on Wapiti 4IKS (170E) and OASIS (2070L). The Centracs canister displays make operation quite seamless and user friendly.

I can provide further details if necessary. Let me know.

Thanks.

Steve

>From 2012 to 2019, The New Jersey Department of Transportation (Department) is anticipating to bid, award, and construct a series of four major road/bridge project known as the I-295/42/I-76 Direct Connection. The purpose of these projects is to improve traffic safety, reduce traffic congestion and meet driver expectations by providing for the direct connection of the I-295 mainline to improve operating conditions at the I-295/I-76/Route 42 interchange. The projects are located in Bellmawr and Mount Ephriam Borough in Camden County. The Construction Cost estimate is $700M.

Prior to bidding these projects, the Department proposes to bid and construct an Advanced ITS Contract. This break-out project proposes to install Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) electronic and communications equipment along corridors that approach and leave the interchange. The intent is to have these devices in place and operational before any major road work commences under the Direct Connection so that existing Department ITS are supplemented with the proposed devices to assist in mitigating traffic impacts during Direct Connect construction. The Advanced ITS Contract will provide for the benefit of motorists traveling through the work zones with traffic monitoring and management, construction conditions traveler information, incident management, enhanced safety of both user and construction workers, increased throughput capacity, and enhanced work zone planning. Adaptive Traffic Signal Control technologies are proposed along arterial segments which can serve as alternate or diversion routes to I-295, I-76, and/or Route 42. The estimated construction cost of the Advanced ITS Contract is $7M and is Federally funded. Construction must commence by early spring 2012.

As there are limited ITS contractor in NJ capable of doing this work, the Department is asking List Serve members for assistance in increasing our number of qualified bidders. Do you have a list of either prequalified bidders or a similar list of contractors who have successfully completed contracts such as the Advanced ITS project? Can this list be shared with us?

It is hoped that we can use this information so the Department can award to a qualified bidder at a competitive price.

Thanks!

Steve,

I think the Cabinet has prequalification for ITS-type contractors (I think listed under Integrated Traffic Management Systems). However, I don't think any of the contractors have the experience/capabilities to do the wide-range of activities listed under their project. Items such as adaptive signals and advanced work zone analysis/planning would not be things that would necessarily be the specialty of these contractors. The contractors on the list appear to be the typical electrical contractors across the state.

Quite frankly, some of those duties sound more like ITS consultants, which there is a prequalification list for as well.

Prequalified Contractor listing: fied%20Contractors%20List.pdf Integrated Traffic Management Systems is listed under work class code I44.

Does the KYTC have any such prequal listing for ITS contractors that could assist our friends in NJ? I recall the CCTV and comm. project along the shared route in Fayette County a few years ago including several DMSs, but was unsure about a prequalified listing for ITS contractors.

Thanks.

HI Vinny New Hampshire is in the process of finishing two ITS design build contracts along its I-93 and I-95 corridors. The intent was the same as yours -- deploy ITS before a long term expansion of the I-93 corridor. We are building microwave point to point communication systems along with CCTV, DMS and VSL's.

I have listed below the vendors that responded to our two design-build RFP's. Note we did not use a pre qual list because we wanted to see who would respond. Hope this helps. Denise Markow,
