Welcome!

We are thrilled that you are considering enrolling your children at Saint Paul Parochial School. Our Parish and Parochial School were the first Catholic Parish and School in Oregon and we are proud of the 170 plus years of Catholic education the school has provided to St. Paul and its surrounding communities. We continue to educate the whole person and guide them in their Christian formation, within a Catholic environment, as we work diligently to fulfill our mission:

“Developing a strong educational foundation rooted in God and our Catholic faith and nourished by lifelong learning skills.”

The curriculum at St. Paul combines the best of traditional studies with innovative educational methods. Our daily religious instruction, updated and integrated technology, and dedicated staff provide the essential elements that make for an outstanding school. Our hearty volunteer base, school-home-Church partnership, and strong sense of community combine to serve as the heart and spirit of Saint Paul Parochial School.

In the tradition of Catholic education, we offer a safe and nurturing environment that allows students to excel while providing a solid foundation for life-long learning. Our small class sizes allow teachers and staff to work closely with students to help them maximize their spiritual, academic, physical, and social development.

We happily invite you to be a part of the Saint Paul Parochial School community. If there is any additional information we can provide, please contact us.

We look forward to serving you and your child/ren in the future.

Curriculum

A Christian education in the Catholic tradition is best realized by programs which seek to create the widest opportunities for students to receive systematic catechesis, to experience daily living in the Christian community, and to develop commitment and skill in serving others.

St. Paul Parochial School maintains the highest standards of academic excellence and encourages family involvement in the educational process. St. Paul offers a challenging, traditional academic program which emphasizes the mastery of basic skills and the extension of those skills toward independent learning and decision-making. The goal is to develop life-long learning in each student.

Religion, language arts, math, social studies, science, and health are the core curriculum. In addition, we offer Spanish, Physical Education, Technology, Music, Library, and Art Literacy. Field trips are planned to enhance and support our academic program. Middle School students have the opportunity to participate in additional programs such as Band and Agriculture.

Our curriculum is established by the Archdiocese of Portland. Each year, an in-depth study of core subject material is completed at the Archdiocesan level and local level, ensuring that we stay current with national and state standards. Textbook adoption coincides with in-depth studies and Archdiocesan Department of Catholic Schools approval.

St. Paul Parochial School participates in the Archdiocesan testing programs and our students consistently score higher than the national averages in the areas of Language Arts and Mathematics.
