Hello,

We are back again – and hope you had a good Summer.

June and July proved to be memorable months for the Association. Many thought that the Summer Art exhibition in the Dome was the best yet. A large crowd turned out for the vernissage, and we ran our usual Jazz event in the garden and a garden party too. The art exhibition attracts many new members, and raised over 1000€ for our projects. Two events later in the month, the Summer Picnic and the Last Wednesday Apero each attracted over 40 members too.

A reminder that the Newsletter goes out usually on the first of the month, and we often send out an update around the 15th. If you have events or information you want to bring to the attention of members, try to let us know in time for these dates, as we try not to send out continual emails to fill up your inbox. A reminder also to let us know in good time if you are coming to events. We need to make arrangements with restaurants etc and it is difficult if a dozen people are added at the last minute. It is a busy time for Linda and me in the next few months, with extensive building work on our house and a new baby (grandchild) arriving, so any offers to help organise things will be especially welcome.

Art Exhibitions

Two of our members have exhibitions this month. Ted Hiscock has his exhibition all month at the Palais de la Congres et de la Prehistoire in Tautavel and Christophe Desrayaud is exhibiting four works at the new smoked fish outlet Les Poissons Fumés on the quai de la Republique in Port Vendres, - and although he is not a member, the Picasso exhibition continues until the end of the month in the newly refurbished Musée Rigaud in Perpignan (and don’t forget the excellent Photojournalism exhibition in Perpignan 2-17 September)
