CONGRATULATIONS to Glen Ladies who clinched the Derry Intermediate Football Championship title in emphatic fashion defeating league winners Ballinascreen 5-6 to 1-11 at Dungiven on Saturday evening.
An early goal within the first few minutes from Marlene Mullan set Glen on their way and they led 4-3 to 1-7 at half-time, Sinead McDonald, Louise Glass and Mullan with her second strike were the other goal scorers. When Glen was reduced to 14 players on two occasions, Ballinascreen failed to capitalise on the extra player as the Glen defence held firm. Glass grabbed a fifth goal in the second half while Player-of- the-Final Caoimhe Milne added further points. Well done to all the team and their management!
Glen now progress to the Ulster Intermediate Club Championship and face Cavan champions Knockbride in the preliminary round this Saturday, September 15 in Glen at 3pm. All support welcome!

Glen also enjoyed further success on Saturday when they won the Ulster Óg Sports Finals at Newtownstewart. Congratulations to the team and their mentors. This is Glen’s third victory at this level in four years - an impressive record!
